Thank you very much for TafferPatcher. I have been trying for over a year to get Thief2 working on newer hardware and failed. I've even kept an older machine around primarily so that I can still play Thief. However, I just got hold of TafferPatcher and it installed everything and it worked first time.
For info, I have the game working on Win7 64 bit, running at 1920x1200 on a GeForce 285GTX and also using EAX sound effects on a Creative titanium (thanks to Creative Alchemy).
Thanks again.

Will there be support for '(
http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=93055) Thief - The complete collection' ?
The good things about it: Thief Gold, Thief 2, Thief DS all on one DVD (including some fixes for XP/Vista)
Unfortunately TafferPatcher does not recognize the DVD.
Is there a workaround ?
I had to answer NO when it asked for 'Complete Install'.
Although it did install some mission-fixes, I did not even find the MossArrow-fix applied.
Thanks!

I don't know how but TafferPatcher worked even on my cranky laptop with XP SP2 installed on drive F:
This thing is great.

1. Install the game (without Tafferpatcher)
2. Put Tafferpatcher into the T2-directory
3. Run Tafferpatcher.
It works just fine

Does it require .NET or some other nonsense
PsymH on 28/6/2010 at 15:47
Why is .NET nonsense?
Nameless Voice on 28/6/2010 at 17:20
Because it's huge and bloated considering that you have to install the entire monster if you just want to run a program that uses Windows Forms (which is only a small fraction of the framework). Of course, since Windows comes with it at this stage, as do the service packs...

The fuck, they put it in 7 by default?
Hope Java sues them or whatever.
Nameless Voice on 28/6/2010 at 18:43
Vista and 7, yeah.
It's a bunch of libraries, why is it so evil? Apart from being huge compared to earlier stuff like MFC?
And Sun didn't so much sue Microsoft as keep the fact that they could as leverage to stop Microsoft ever suing them (they've used it in the past.)

No, it doesn't. It runs on fresh Win98 setup.
