Thanks for a quick reply. I tried reinstalling multiple times and everytime I edit user.cfg thief2 simply wont load (after clicking play in steam nothing happens). Tried 2.0.16 and its working. Maybe I am doing something wrong... Can you post your user.cfg/did you download subtitles from (

I tried the subtitles file from the thread you linked to today, and it crashes both of my Thief 2 installations when I try to start the game or one of the missions via FMSel. I have discovered several errors in that subtitles file. I am very sure it is the reason why you have no luck either.
I have used two additional entries in my user.cfg on one occasion and in cam_ext.cfg on the other occasion:
enable_subtitles
subtiles_show_descr
These lines work regardless of whether I put them in user.cfg or cam_ext.cfg. The "Waterfront Racket" FM (v1.1) uses a third configuration file, fm.cfg, to add these lines.
After deleting the miss1.sub file downloaded from the other thread, the game worked without any problems again, and movies, conversations and voiceovers in "Waterfront Racket" were shown without anything looking wrong.
Therefore I'd recommend you remove miss1.sub from the subtitles directory (folder) of your Thief installation (you may move it to somewhere else in order not to lose the file), and then try out "Watefront Racket", with the lines shown above in either user.cfg or cam_ext.cfg. If the subtitles work with that mission, your configuration should be okay.

I have an odd problem with all versions of Tafferpatcher past 2.0.12. In Life Of The Party, namely in Angelwatch, every person or bot walking up or down the stairs gets stuck and starts some spaz-attack dance. There's also a mechanist in Precious Cargo that gets second alerted for no reason. He is the one inside the lighthouse keeper's house having a conversation with his friend on the second floor. When he's done, he goes downstairs and suddenly alerts.
Did anybody experience the same issues? Any cure for this, apart from using older Tafferpatcher? Becuase new versions are mostly better.

Have you restarted these two missions when using a newer version of TafferPatcher (and NewDark)? I recently noted that I had some problems with the OM "Framed" (lighting and a "black doorway"), but that was because I used a saved game made with NewDark 1.23 under version 1.24. When I restarted "Framed" with NewDark 1.24, the problems were gone.

In NewDark when I pick item, it just goes to inventory and does not show as selected (rotating in lower right corner) as it was in old dark, how this can be fixed ?

So you pick up a healing fruit, let's say. It disappears in the "world" and appears in your inventory. But you're saying it just disappears, is that correct?
Does it happen to stock resources, custom, or anything you pick up?
How about a crate? It should not go into your inventory but spin in the lower center of the screen until you drop/throw it.

This doesn't have anything to do with NewDark - you need to enable Auto Equip. Go to options, game, and change Auto Equip to On.

So, I'm having a bit of trouble here.
I applied the patch. Thief2 worked, but I noticed it didn't apply the EP2 textures. So I went in and played with the mod path a little, and now missions won't even LOAD ;_; Games starts up, I select New Game, first cutscene plays, I click past the objectives screen....
And boom, crash.
Even if I comment out the entire mod line, it does this! Any idea what's up?
EDIT: Ok, even worse: Dromed refuses to work! It loads very slowly, and will no longer Portalize! =O Might have to start fresh here...
EDIT 2: Made a completely new, fresh install. Everything works good, except some of these new Enhancement pack textures are either ugly or don't do a good job replicating the originals (You know those giant brown bricks you sometimes see? Replaced by a bunch of small gray and blue stones. And windows made for the green brick texture now have YELLOW bricks. Whaaaa?). I may have to pick and choose from the older EP and replace, because man, some of these really fouled up my FM and a few of the OMs.
