Should work. Was this a fresh install? You can always run TP again and try to reinstall the patch again. I've updated several of my installs with the new TP and everything has worked fine.

Was a fresh install. The previous patch, (2.0.16) seems to have worked just fine. 2.0.17 just didn't want to work for me, I guess. Or is it an incremental patch?

I have used TafferPatcher 2.0.17 immediately after installing Thief 2 v1.18, and it worked. So it can't be an incremental patch.
When using TP 2.0.17, did you verify whether "NoCD" was marked/checked?

I cant use fraps on thief2 - it is chrashing. What can i do ?

dont use fraps :P
open broadcaster studio will manage to grab the game without crashing.
the reason fraps crashes is that the game restarts its .exe for every loading screen, ending the capture.

quite sure the exe restart for every loading screen is T3 exclusive, and fraps should work fine for TG/T2/SS2 (NewDark games).

huh, got the numbers confused there i guess.
fraps does have problems recording dark engine games if not running the game windowed though
in that case, just force the game into borderless windowed mode via the cam_ext.cfg
that should fix the issue

It might be a faulty installation but looks like subtitles dont work with this version of TP. I'll try reinstalling.

Strange. I have subtitles working correctly for the first time with NewDark 1.24 in TafferPatcher 2.0.17 (verified with "A Job Well Done", and some of my own experiments). With previous versions (1.23 and 2.0.16), languages got mixed up, but subtitles were already displayed. Didn't check it with the new "Waterfront Racket" version so far, though.
