Thanks :)
I use Maya myself. Max seems to be more popular with game studios though. Have you tried either of them? I believe they both have free educational versions that are remarkably full-featured for game modeling purposes. Might be worth a shot if you haven't tried them yet as they have quite a wealth of video tutorials and free plugins online.

These replacements are awesome, there's just something about modernized old school weapons that makes me giddy. And the modern touches are great, like how you replaced the pulsing blue cover on the laser pistol with a beam. Very very cool and I can't wait until it's out!

When can we set our phasers on stun? :cool:

@Alinestra Covelia
The SS2 weapons are incredibly...badly designed. Clearly a rush job. The hardest part of all this is recreating the 'gaps' in design such as the laser pistol which uses a tiled texture for the main part, air duct textures and furthermore was designed to be impossible for a human to hold comfortably.
That piston thing...I have no freaking clue why one would be necessary and I didn't really want to remake that part but without it the SS2 shottie loses it's identity :p
@Kolya
Someday. I'll at least try to get the laser finished. But I'm starting to see why SS2 projects tend to fail so frequently.

I know I'm starting to sound like some annoying parrot by now, but wasn't the assault rifle almost done? I remember seeing an incomplete version of it already imported into the game.

Although we all hope to see you redo every weapon, if you feel you're running out of steam nobody's gonna hold it against you. The AR and laser pistol however, from what you've shown us, are just about there so it'd probably make sense to get those done if you can.
Kolya on 12/12/2007 at 06:04
Some of us on the other hand have expressed their deep felt desire to hang you by the nuts if you don't get 'em dun. That was only a colloquial expression with no factual weight whatsoever, I suppose.

If you own a scrotum, stay the hell away from this guy :p

I wouldn't count on it. There are ways to IMPROVISE.
