I think this is a neat idea. It gives fans a chance to recreate their favourite board games as well as avoiding the potential of cease and desist letters if trying to create a standalone game as it's all unofficial mods to the game.
Also, it's still on sale.

It's got a battletech mod that sounds pretty good. Hesitent to try it without VR though.

Interesting. I've been playing with the Vassal Engine for board/card games for a long time. This just adds the physics simulation to that, but Vassal Engine already has 100s or 1000s of games already made for it. So I don't know if I really need this.
