Tablet PC for reading sheet music and ebooks (4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio?) - by operaghost

The standard 11"x8.5" paper seems much closer to 4:3 than to 16:9 ratio. Which aspect ratio would be best if the main function is reading sheet music?
I had something like this is mind...

Widescreen is good for movies, but would a widescreen tablet sitting on a music stand be too narrow to read sheet music well?

So you're saying that if you got a widescreen tablet you would stick it up on the music stand tallways? If so then I do think it might be too narrow, but if the display is actually quite large than it might be a normal width and just extra tall (as opposed to normal tall but skinny). In other words, the aspect ratio isn't as important as overall width - if you can get a screen that is as wide (when stood up tallways) as a peice of paper, then it doesn't really matter if it's a bit extra tall, does it.

I just calculated the length of each.
To display an image image the same size & ratio as a piece of printer paper:
Standard 4:3 = 14.2"x8.5" monitor
Widescreen 19:6 = 17,3"x8.5" monitor.
An extra 3 inches length may not make enough difference to avoid a widescreen tablet.
