Like others are saying, you shouldn't get too worked up about it. It's a corporate site, so it's completely expected they'd act like that. You can practically assume what they'll do, so we shouldn't feel too surprised.
TTLG's only partisanship is to the legacy of a studio that's been defunct for 10 years and wasn't the most market savvy to begin with anyway ;) and definitely not cutthroat even in its time -- which is to say we're open to all viewpoints at this point. It sounds like from your feeling that you really want to post your honest feelings without worrying about the forum giving you the evil eye for it ... then this is definitely the place for you.
The EM site does have one virtue though. It can serve as a feeder drawing in a whole new generation of Thief fans curious about the game and community, and then direct them all here where they can thrive & give us new blood. :D

OK, things get worse now. All the things about Stephen Russell and the petition were deleted on both Wikipedia "Thief" and the official thief youtube channel. Although they did not change things on Russell's wiki, they also delete the petition part. These MFs are doing the worst thing to cover their mistakes. And that is the thing they called to be a "Thief come back"? No Way!
I can see why you'd be pissed about them deleting the petition from the official forums. You'd think it'd be the one place to talk about the game, positive or negative, but what it really is is one gigantic marketing machine run by crazy people.
But Wikipedia? Of course they're going to delete the petition there. It's not (currently) relevant to Russell's history, and can kinda be viewed as advertising at the moment.

TTLG doesn't have any agendas.
Well, we do - but they're nefarious, devious and well hidden...

Sigh, back to the drawing board

Does that mean you want me to change the minutes of the last meeting?

at the end of the day it's Eidos' forum they can impose whatever policies they like and that means you might not be able to express your opinion the way you want or at all.

Well, it feels more like Square Enix's forum now. I happily posted on the Eidos forums since 1999, and never had any issues with being able to post things...positive or negative. The excessive moderating appears to have come into play after SE acquired Eidos. I've posted on other gaming forums before but have never felt the iron grip quite like I do at Eidos these days. I'm wishing I had never recreated my account to speak out about Stephen Russel being passed over for the new guy. The place just brings out the worst in me.

I'm not up on Wiki rules, but censoring a Wikipedia page seems silly to me. Can't the information just be added back again?

The official Forum really suck! Last Saturday I talked about my feeling of missing Russell and I want him back, and they delete my post. 10 minutes later, some suck sent me a message and said :"Sorry, we have to delete your post like many others, keep waiting, we have some official things come out soon."
I can see where this thread is going so won't stick around too long. :cheeky:
Just to explain that EM had arranged with skaadi to organise a digital thank you card with messages to SR.
So you were sent a message to ask if you could wait a little while because something special was planned. We figured you would like to have your message read by Mr Russell. :)

Yes, temporarily. Until skaadi's thread was created. An explanation via PM was sent.
Best to keep all messages in one thread, and its easier for skaadi to create her summary of messages (as seen in lower part of her introduction).
