Well, i've just installed T3ED following Komag's guide. and all seems to have gone well, except for one thing.
i tested running the Castle1.unr mission to see if i could play the maps, and it runs fine. but as soon as i come up to a locked chest/door, i can frob it as many times as i want but it wont call forth the lockpicking hud at all, effectively stopping me from playing through the map if i have to unlock a door somewhere.
the problem persists with the fix for the fullscreen with sound workaround (by using the send to xbox function) though i havnt tested any other maps yet. as far as i know i have followed all instructions in the guide to the letter.
So, if anyone knows about this problem (or if it's just something that cn't be helped) please let me know :)

I don't know if it's related, but are you running single or dual install? Are you using dracflamloc's T3Launcher? :)

A dual installation, and yes, i am using the launcher.
The tutorial said i couls delete some files because they were only needed to play the game, and wern't needed for the editor install, so i deleted them as was in the tutorial. i deleted videotextures, and certain kinds of files in the /maps/ folder, all the .IBT files.. if that means anything to you.
maybe that's the problem ? (since i was testing it with an original map and only kept the gmp files? )
i doubt this, because ass far as i know the .unr files should do what the .ibt files do normally, but hey, i'm new to all this so that's just a shot in the dark...:weird:

You're right. The ibt's aren't necessary.
Did you delete anything in the TriggerScript directory? Other than that, this looks like a bad install. You may need to delete it and start again. Before doing that, though, you might try replacing the T3GameSys.t3u file and default.ini first.

I forget the exact name, but there is a flag called something like "PlayerCanLockpick" that you have to set to TRUE in order to be able to lockpick. You can either set it through the debug menu or with a simple script. Look on the wiki to figure out how, because I can't remember at the moment.

Hey Krypt, long time no see.
Xosmi: there's a bit of Komag's tutorial right at the start which is to give the player lockpicks, I think you need to repeat that on the castle map you're testing. As Krypt says, by default you don't have lockpicks so they need to be "given" to the player.

Thanks for all the input guys, i'll test all of your suggestions somewhere today or tomorrow, depending on when i get the time :)
i didn't go far into the tutorial, just the installation, so giving garett the lockpicks could very well be the solution, since i did not edit any files other then the ones i was told to delete in the tutorial.

i just learned about triggerscripts (what they are and do  ) and i just added the lockpicks (though i dont actually HAVE something to pick, Dóh! )
