I extracted my downloaded version of T3Ed and extracted it to the Thief install DIR and whenever I try to run the T3Ed EXE it gives me the prompt: You must launch " " from T3.exe with the "editor" commandline argument. Do I have to add a commandline to the T3.exe? This might be an obviously dumb quesiton I'm afraid.

We get asked this a lot. So first - put all the dumb newbie questions in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94633) http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94633 thread.
And you need to create a shortcut to t3.exe with the editor after it, like:
Quote:
"blah/blah/blah/t3.exe" editor
in the shortcut target.
That'll get you into the editor. To play the levels, you need to rename (in the game's system folder) T3MainOptVersion.exe to T3Main.exe (overwrite/rename the old one out of the way), then the "Play Level" button on the editor will work.
Also, as well as the newbie thread, check the wiki: (

and if you're new to the level editing thing as a whole, some helpful stuff can be found on (

Thanks a lot. I'm not exactly a newbie per say though. I do have experience with DromEd and various Unreal SDKs. I think I could've figured this out eventually, but it was 2 a. m. and I didn't feel like putting the time into it. The links are useful though. Thanks.

meh, not actually meaning to be nasty to you, so that's cool. And there is a readme on how to set it up, but I don't think it comes with every version of the download, so we get asked this every few weeks anyway.
Good Luck out there: :thumb:

OOPS! :wot: I had the editor running just fine and even had a good terrain going. I closed it to go fold laundry (too much info.) and I tried opening T3Ed from the System folder and once again it gave me the commandline argument error. The T3.exe shortcut is still there with the "editor" line added. Any ideas?

Check that T3.exe is not running in the Processes tab of the Task Manager.
I had the same error when testing it, and found it was caused by T3.exe already running.

Lol that was fast. I figured it out already, thanks though.

Is there another way to create terrain in T3Ed, other than just creating it manually with brushes? I noticed that there is no ZoneInfo in the Actor Classes

I can't really remember, but I think the Ued terrain editor comes packed in with T3ed doesn't it?
But if you want my recommendation, with an engine that uses realtime lighting and normalmaps I'd use a 3D app to do the terrains. Using straight up brushes will end up looking really jagged and crappy when you finally get around to lighting it.

Does it come with a terrain editor? Where would it be located? And what 3d app would you reccommend for terrain?
