Why not take some from Thief 2? Shouldn't be too much of a hassle to convert.

I know its a little crazy y'all, but I thought it would be fun to have around to play with in the toolbox. Imagine an FM where Garrett is trapped or captured, stripped of his kit but he managed to toss the familiar into a trash can as he was being attacked. Now you have to send out your familiar to retrieve a key or hit a switch or grab the picks, sneaking past guards and jailers, ducking cats, till you get whatever, then get it back to Garrett. Then Garrett has to do it himself, its like a double mission in some ways.
Or, even juicier, a tandem mission, where Garrett goes in one direction to accomplish one set of tasks and switches attention back and forth from the familiar to accomplish other tasks necessary to complete his own. Two completely different play experiences in one mission.
Gestalt: Thats interesting information, maybe its not as far off as I imagine. Or maybe Ill make a bat familiar.......

I haven't worked with the schemas much, yet. Does anyone know if we can add new voice sets?

Lizanneh, I have limited computer skills but if there is any other way I could assist, please ask.

I've done some preliminary work with the schema editor, it looks like custom voice sets should be possible. The field to attach schemas to AI is there, and you could use some existing ones as a model.

While i can't speak officially, creating a scouting orb in darkmod should be very easy. It might be something we do later on down the road, as it hasn't even come up yet as a discussion.
Actually, it did come up a long time ago and we agreed at the time that a scouting orb wouldn't make sense for our thief, since he doesn't have a mechanical eye. But I'm sure someone could quite easily add one "unofficially" after the release.

And anyway, the scouting orb is about on par with the flash mine for general uselessness.

I like scouting orbs. In the Bank level I used one all the time.

I used them occasionally, but not enough to miss them at all.

Same here. They're nice to have for the Ooh Cool factor, but overall they're not that useful.
