This was the reason for your crash. Even if you have dual opteron with sli 8800, it won't matter. However, add that sphere as static mesh, even that's 5000 polygon, you won't have problems. This is not specific for this engine. Any per-pixel engine is not built to handle complex bsp stuff.

Yea, It's always been like that since way back... nothings changed it seems. any type of subtractions with alot of curves always went to the dumps at some point afterwards.
I have more questions but right not I'm gonna check some stuff out.
