Sounds cool Bardic, I'll put you on the list for sure.
I've just added the hammerite holywater fountain back into the gamesys. Things are shaping up nicely. :)

I'm in a locking down mode for the T3Ed installer. The modified systems are working well. I'm currently organizing the triggerscripts to be a little more user friendly.
Speaking of triggerscripts. There are no doubt plenty of custom triggerscripts floating around out there that FM authors don't want to lose. If you have some custom scripts that you think need to be included in the base T3Ed installer, just send me a PM detailing what your script does and how you made it. Not all scripts will be added as there has to be a point where the base installer is just that, a base installer....especially if they're for a specific mission. I'm sure that after the initial release there will still be a few scripts trickle in that should be included and I'll add those and provide the scripts for download so that nobody has to download the entire installer again.
Alrighty, lets see those scripts come in.

slightly old thread...
I've noticed a need for a script that runs on game start that sets all the help texts for objects like different arrows and powerups to not show up. It's extremely annoying to see those after having played the whole game! One script could set all of them make the game think you already saw them before, so you get no help message

I never liked those popup texts. I figure that if someone is playing a Thief Fan Mission, they know what an arrow is. :laff: I've gone one step further with my scalpel and removed those scripts completely.

You can easily delete the helptextpopup scripts in the actor browser of every object's triggerscripts and everything is fine. Dont know if it works by just deleting the scripts themselves, too. I found this some time ago, but i thought it wasnt a big deal so i didnt post it.
Will there be the possibility to change keyboardshortcuts? Im working on a 17'' monitor and it pretty sucks to work in the 4-viewport mode (or how is it called?). I prefer the method to switch between the viewports by klicking f1 to f4. The standard keys for that are alt+1 to alt+4. And that is -...- not so good! :)

That's a bit out of my league. I'm just working on the inner gameplay mechanics and not the editor functions. There are others who are working on improving the editor interface and functions though. :)

Ok, then i missunderstood you. Has anyone found yet how to switch the keyboardshortcuts? Crispy, will you add something like that to your program?
NH do you want me to test, too? I prefered finishing my mission first (which will still take some time), but if you wish i ll test it. Id like to revenge for your help.

improved retro hud
I'd love to use T3Ed Deluxe (installer, new scripts etc.), but I would like to choose if I want to have - for example - "modern" (TDS) or "retro" (T1/2) hud. Will I be forced to have only one (modified) hud etc. after installing T3Ed Deluxe? I'd like to use "only drunk or overweight guards get tired now" and the like features, but I do not want to change the original interface. Will it be possible?

I'm afraid not. It's being released as is. Maybe it's a bit 'utopian' of me but I would like to see a true unification between classic Thief players and T3 players. To me that means taking the best of T3 and adjusting the weaker elements. In my own biased, humble opinion ;), the T3 hud was just not meant for a Thief game. Unfortunately, people will be forced to use a modified retro hud. I've further tweaked it since Minimalist. The compass no longer has a ring around it, so it looks much nicer now. I'm just putting the finishing tweaks on the first beta right now. I'll try to find a place to upload it for my testers. :)
I am sorry that it won't be completely to your liking, but I've been working towards this for the last year and a half. I've listened to feedback on Minimalist and have taken steps to make sure everything is as tweaked and balanced as possible. I really hope people enjoy the default settings in this version of the editor. :) No matter how hard I try, I can't think of the T3 hud as the 'original' interface. It's just not very elegant....that's not to say that what I've come up with is perfect. LOL

Hai! (That means yes. :))
It should be possible to customise all keyboard shortcuts. I'm not quite there yet, and it might not be very pretty to set up in the first release, but it should be doable.
