I have a small request... Could ATI card owners post their config, Catalyst version and say if everything works OK for them? I ask because some Radeon owners (and I am one of them) seem to have problems with selecting and highlighting brushes in 3D viewport...
I have Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro, Catalyst 4.9 (only drivers and Control Panel, without Control Center).

I found I had this trouble only after running T1 and T2 - I'd turned up the quality to max in order to slow them down (antialiasing, filtering etc.) Just make sure you set it towards "performance" in the 3D tab of display settings, otherwise everything goes sluggish and unresponsive.
I have a 9000 Pro, and T3ed works comfortably when I set 3D to "optimal performance".
Sounds like a good start for a troubleshooting section in the wiki...

I have no problem with the speed of movement or pop-up dialog boxes in 3D viewport. Everything runs smooth. It's just that I have a hard time with selecting brush faces...
Anyway, thanks for the tip. I will try to set my card to 'performance'.
BTW, what Catalysts you have?

Yes, that was it - object and brush selection became difficult, even though the 3D viewport was fine and dandy in other respects.
I can't tell you the exact driver version at the moment, as I write from memory, and I'm at work, but it is later than version 5 - I remember having to upgrade them for Far Cry.

There's a known problem in standard UEd with being unable to select things if you have anti-aliasing enabled.
Quick edit - I thought I didn't suffer this despite have a 9700 Pro, until I went to test my 2k4 level, and after UT had run, couldn't select a thing other than by dragging a selection box over it (just thought I'd mention that in case it's relevant to how it's afflicting T3Ed).

Have you tried building the geometry after placing a brush you want to edit?
I had the same problem, and that seemed to fix it.
EDIT: I'm finally a member now! woohoo!! :D

Of course. :)
As for now, sometimes highliting works and sometimes it does not. It ALWAYS works just after launching the editor. Later... well...
And to avoid further questions: yes, I have
View->ShowSelectionHighlight checked. ;)

I'm using version 6.14.10.6444 of the drivers, apparently. Whether this information helps or not I don't know.

Only noobzorinas use Catalysts, go for the Omegas.

Hello, bukary...
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, v5.1 Catalyst, running on WindowsXP Home, SP2. Have the drivers and I guess I have the control panel too; it has all those extra tabs on the Display Settings/Configuration screen.
I start having a very sluggish response time so it makes selecting surfaces and brushes more difficult later on in the build process if I've had T3Ed running for a long time. I don't think it's nearly as bad as what you're describing, because for now it's only slightly annoying for me. I can still get by now that I know how to avoid the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94224) frequent crashing I was having earlier.
