Everything apart from the ini patching is GL housekeeping duties, which is fine, but like I said I think it'll cause confusion not being able to run FMs after installing them.
Regarding my own problem, the odd thing is that the glbu file is long gone - where else could it be getting the ini it's patching from? Very odd. :weird:
GL is doing a bang-up job with the T2 novice missions, btw. :thumb:

The only thing then that I can think of is you have a user_patch.ini there? no idea why though. I did a clean install of T3 (partly because I installed the editor) and ran through the process as if someone new was doing it. It went well (couple of slight issues which have been fixed now). One big issue though is that if you have run the editor through the T3 Launcher exe, your registrt settings may be incorrect, so you would need to run the main original game through the t3 lancher exe to reset the registry details. Then you can install and run a T3 FM...The only way I can think of resolveing this is to check the registry entry then check the folder structure and see if it actually contains the utility folder or the editorprefs.ini file. If it does it will warn you to reset via the T3 Launcher.....only problem then becomes that if its a single install and the editor is in the same path....which would be goon in some ways as it would install everything fine, but the check to see if its the editor install or not would fail.....must work out a good way of handling that....

I don't have the editor installed at the moment, but something has changed somewhere... I just reverted to the OMs again then installed SV. Now when I play it no longer makes ANY changes to the ini, so the map doesn't load. I can confirm the glbu file HAS now been created (my user.ini) and Gonchong's user_patch.ini has been unzipped. Time for a reinstall I think, but before I do is there anything I can provide that might help you work out what's up?

Confirm that the user.ini file has been updated with whatever is in the user_patch.ini file...
Try re-setting your T3 game path in GL, this would update the original user.ini if the user_patch.ini is incomplete for your PC in any way.
The only other thing is that you should have about 5 files that are in the original_backup.zip, if not you have extra files left over from something.

As I posted in the SV thread, we seem to be good to go now. The only thing I did was reinstall the OMs and PLAY for a few minutes before coming back out, installing SV and starting again. I remember you posted elsewhere that you needed to start T3 so GL would work properly - could that have caused it? Might be worth warning the user if they haven't played the OMs when you start GL (presuming there's an easy file check or whatever you can do).
Cheers for your help anyway potterr.

There is an easy way to check, and it does check in the next version...it may not be 100% foolproof though more 99%.
