Evening
I'm trying to help a fellow author translate his FM, but I am having a duzy of a time trying to figure out which readables need translating. He has sent me as best he can the english translation, but the grammar and word placement is very confusing. Cast has offered to do the direct polish to english translation for me, but while I wait I having a stab at doing it myself.
The briefing was fairly easy but all the other files that have polish text iun them are proving to be the issue.. is there a tut on how and what to edit when making your own T3 fm so I'm not floundering around in the dark ...

d'Spair has some of these things covered (
http://www.ttlg.com/wiki/Basic_Mission_Tutorial#Working_With_Game_Files) here. There are two different sets of schema (*.sch) files. The ones in the ...\Books\English\String_Tags folder have single strings in them with a title above them so the game can look for the appropriate string in every language. Ingame map descriptions, mission map names, HUD and object names are stored there, that's why it pays off to search these files at the top or bottom for additional entries which have only one language or something.
The second category is the one where the title is referring to the specific content. They feature only one sort of text in four languages and a couple of apparently uninteresting values and words at the top (but keep them just in case). Briefings, debriefings and the ingame readables are stored that way, as well as the objectives, as soon as T3Ed creates the corresponding conversation. Their status as conversation schema files is the reason why you find them in ...\Sounds\schemas\conversations\PlayerGarrett\MissionName*.sch.
The actual text is usually started with \n and might have hmtl-like tags in between, for instance: br or p in angle brackets. I believe there was an overview somewhere about all those meta stuff but I cannot find it right now.
