I'm running on Windows 7 bit trying to get this damn thing running. I've tweaked T2X's darkinst.cfg so that the game will even start and gotten VP3Codec to install to system32 as prompted. The game makes it to the intro cutscene when starting new game, finishes that cutscene, gets to the objectives, allows me to hit Start Mission, freezes, then crashes on me. I have no idea how to fix this.

I followed the instructions for the Everest report, but my report came out way bigger than the sample report for some reason. I'll just state a bunch of things from the report:

Running on Windows 7 Home Premium Home edition, Direct X 9.0c, Video Adapter ATI Radeon HD 4200, AMD Athlon II X4 635 Processor.

Most likely something is wrong in your darkinst.cfg for T2X, assuming that the game and other fan missions run fine.
My recommendation would be to get one of the versions which have been repackaged as a regular mission zip.
So, you don't have to mess with configuring it at all.

Please note: both require NewDark
The second one includes a HD mod.

Ricebug has produced a (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144804) Pre-Patched & Installed version which works in the same way as other fan missions but unfortunately his download link isn't working at the moment. Hopefully get a new link for that soon.

Edit. :) gnartsch beat me to it. The Ricebug version download doesn't work at the moment, gnartsch.

This sounds complicated and is why I really didn't want to deal with the tafferloader and other such addons, but I don't seem to have a choice. I've downloaded Tafferloader but I'm already daunted by all the options in even just the download checklist it presents to me and I'm not really sure how to use it - I'll look into it tomorrow and see if I can figure it out.

If you have a look at (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRwWzLlEAPc) this video at 1.36 it shows what to do with Tafferpatcher. If I don't want any extras then I will generally tick Patch 1.21, custom scripts, t2 skies and t2 water and NTEX texture pack but I believe the minimum is Patch 1.21 and custom scripts. Then let it do its thing.

A new link for the FMSel/Darkloader ready T2X is here: (http://www.southquarter.com/downloads/patches/T2X.zip). This is the easiest way to go, I think. EDIT. So sorry but this link is another that isn't working at the moment. Looking for another one for you. Edit 2 - Here ya go. I've tried this link and it does open a download. Unfortunately I can't reach the southquarter link for the FMSel/Darkloader version of T2X. Gives me a 404 (Page Not Found) Error message. Where can I find a working link?
