T2x and FMSel issue - TTLG Forums

Hi guys. Long time no see.

Question: I've been using FMSel to play T2 FMs. For example, Sturmdrang Peak was my latest playthrough, and it works fine.

However, I can't seem to be able to play T2x with FMSel. The opening video starts, but when I get to the menu, all the boxes are black, without text, and then the game crashes, i.e. disappears, as if I never started it.

Does this have something to do with NewDark or Tafferpatcher? Do I need to play T2x with Darkloader or something?

I have an Omen PC and Win 10 if that's any help...

Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I tried googling for a thread to help me, but came up short. I suck at tech issues.

It's the version downloaded from their site: (http://www.thief2x.com/download/)

Is that the old one then? If so, you're saying I need to get the ND version and replace my old version with it in the FMSel's FM folder?

EDIT: I tried the NewDark link on the page you provided, but got an error message: File not found (404 error). Dang...

I didn't find it on Southquarter or Taffersparadiese nor Darkfate
But you can find it here

(T2x.zip, but not the T2x.exe)

Downloaded the version, will update the files in my T2x folder, and will see how this works. Hopefully all goes well.
