I played this mission-set some now over two years ago, already, must have been shortly after it came out, I had version 1.17 and just 3 hours ago downloaded the newest 1.18 version, which is all-in-all much smoother.
Then, I did get only until before the magic rune code wall. well, happens that only people who care to take time to understand things, can solve this one, which is easy: it doesn't matter in what sequence one enters the five codes.
I didn't even need to look it up here. My own notes were totally sufficient.
ATTENZIONE, RAGAZZI: SPOILER!!! BOIL OIL! :)
Hm. All was superbe until I got into the room with the Doppel-Decker. There was so much expecation. I thought I would be able to STEER that thingy like in Halo or somethin'.
I version two of this mission epos, I would recommend rewarding the "hacker" of the mystery with a little more than a totally "- spoiler, attention, don't read on if you dislike the truth, thank ye...-" unmovable plane and a 10-second end sequence in which the user "flies" the thingy- just sittin' in it, even, when you try to "frob", meaning: right-clicking one of the two levers, it says "OH NO! Changing direction during takeoff is dangerous!" or "...during flight is dangerous!"
Oh. I know, maybe it's undoable with DromEd. That particular software shunned me off right away by its overcomplicated graphical user interface (gui). lots of buttons, no idea. I was sad. I would personally like a DromEd course, as well as open-sourceable ways of fanmissioning thief4 when it will then once maybe finally come out already.... grrr. if it doesn't include rope arrows as the super bad thief 3 (only good graph, thaz all folx), it's naught and we're stuck with the thief 2, thief 3 and DarkMod (=Doom3) engines for another 5 to 10 years. Ts.
... another thing: why there are SO really few thief 3 missions. I didn't check lately, but when I did some half year ago there were only some about 5 to 10, not more. SAD. Thief 3 deserves rope or vine arrows. In ADDITION to wall-hugging. and in addition to some thrill, but also humor: that wall should be my imaginary girlfriend... :))
--- It is true that most people are totally overwhelmed in a quite negative manner by the sheer diffuseness of the puzzle-solving-art required by this actual gem of a mission - if you like "mind-bending", if you like to strain, to test your ability to solve mysteries, then all painstaking detail you unravel is the reward in itself: you gotta in fact collect info and unlock mini-secrets in not too small a number of instances.
For some 2 or 3 of those mini-secrets, one hidden room (not the one with the final code-wall, the other one), and some well-hidden levers, I had to get from the walkthrough. The only thing I cared about was to in time spot the right, corresponding infos about secrets I hadn't yet revealed or items I didn't yet have.
Oh: I could "ATTENTIONE SPOILERO :) "
... kill the servant villain fiend with only one blow by the cryztal sworde. Thou shallst not kill. But be thine enemy really evile through and through, then thou shallst at least program a mighty fiend, an equitable, formidable sparring foe and rogue, :)) Excerpts of the Shmammerites ;))))
(General info: For some SINGULAR, few other thief fan missions, DarkLoader is even required mandatorily, but most, really some 98% of all fan missions run best when loaded by GARRETLOADER, which can also load thief 3 fan missions)
it is very funny. by myself, I could not finish this mission, I tried more than some 30 hours (!). With the walkthrough and version 1.18, I did it in maybe less than 2 hours.
oh insight, oh mind .......................... :eww:
