Really enjoyable good-looking mission - just missing cards 9, 10 and 17.

HOLY ****, this is very impressive stuff  This mission is definitely unmatched in terms of graphics.
Looking for the first set of cards. Disturbing adventure so far. That doll in the hallway reminded me of The Shining.

and therein lay the most telling reason why this FM is WAY more scary than DP or DP2!
not only is a victorian mansion/mortuary inherently scarier than a warehouse type setting, but c'mon, lets face it, even with very few weapons, Garrett is still Garrett and we are all "comfortable" with him!
(maybe that's why i just was NOT scared in DP or DP2!)
but in Rose Cottage you are not Garrett, you a paranormal investigator, an "unknown quantity"!
that to me adds so much to the psychological aspect of the FM!
tho i would gladly wring Sat's neck if that's what it took to finally get an explanation of the little girl spirit!!! :cheeky:

I actually didn't find it that scary. There were some decent scripted moments, but overall the architectural design seemed more interested in pushing the limits of the Dark Engine than creating a frightening environment. The endgame pretty much completely undermined any scares, by forcing the player into the sort of behavior that's generally considered exploiting the limitations of the AI.
Some actual closure with regards to the child spirit would have been nice too. As is, the mission doesn't really feel finished.

To each his own, if someone did find it scary, he accomplished what he set out to do. In some ways it was a good old fashion haunted house. My favorite. It had its paranormal activity, it got away from a gore fest, fight the demon monster. It was different, so many loved it. It won't be one we'll forget.

I'll agree that the method for dealing with the ghosts got repetitive after the second or third time.
