My GarretLoader doesn't recognize this mission as being a T2 mission. What shall I do to play this mission? :(
Why it is not tested with GarrettLoader? Is there any problem having both GarrettLoader and Darkloader installed on the same machine?

Use DarkLoader.

Thank you Nightwalker, now I have the last cards that were missing.
As for my opinion of this mission - Wow. In terms of visuals, architecture and attention to detail, this mission delivers in spades. I was highly impressed just when I stepped through the double doors at the start. The house looks amazing from the outside. The inside is no less extraordinary, the house feels...real. In fact, I was so impressed by the house itself, that the other areas (underground, cemetery, crypts and morgue) seemed kinda second-rate in comparison, even though that the same attention to detail and realism was applied to them as well.
The intro video deserves special praise. Though not the most Thief-inspired intro around, it's still nothing short of awesome. I felt like I was watching a (good) music video instead of a game intro.
The FM's only downside is the actual gameplay. It's a keyhunt/treasure hunt...and little else. The buildup of suspense is quite good, but the actual "reveal" of your opposition and subsequent actions related to them are a bit of a letdown, compared to everything else in the FM. Likewise, there is one cheesy moment in the FM (opening the double doors in the morgue) but these points are minor wrongs among a whole lot of rights. Simply walking about exploring a house never felt so fun.
Overall, Rose Cottage is a "must play" FM.Though it is not the FM of the year (I think Disorientation is still the front runner there), Rose Cottage is clearly destined to be one of the classics. I salute you, Saturnine.

Speaking of the intro video, I was unable to view it, since apparently I don't have the Indeo 4 codec installed.

It should be on one of the Thief II installation discs. I can mail you the installer if you need it.

I don't want to derail this thread, but I'm hoping I can get some quick statistics:
I get about 9 if I stand behind the fountain looking at the house, mostly 25-30 in fairly complex places outside with one or two spots dropping to 18ish, inside it's anywhere between 30 and 100 depending on how much stuff is in view.
In thief I'd say anything above 18 is quite playable, about 30 I'd describe as fine or smooth. I was getting about 10-12 when I tried to record a run through last week and that's about the point where the physics really aren't keeping up with the player and precision movement becomes impossible leading to many attempts at some jumps and a few falls down the chimney.

When I tried it in garrettloader after people reported problems it popped up a message asking whether it was a t2 mission or not, I clicked yes and it crashed, restarted it and it was ok with the idea it was for t2 and loaded it just fine.

I'd not even heard of it until someone reported a problem with it earlier in the thread. Presumably none of the testers who actually play thief regularly use it.

No, as long as you remember to set thief back to default in one before loading a mission in the other.
