Truthfully, I felt a little disappointed by this mission.
It started off good, kept me tense as I entered the house, but I soon realised that there wasn't much other than those 5 ghosts to keep me occupied. After that, It just became a bit of a keyhunt and get from a-to-b type mission. The story was a bit flat too, it just appeared to be a bit of a generic "experiment gone wrong" with a slight twist. The Phantasmagoria-esqe effects of the locking door, dining chairs moving themselves, wall moving back and the doll randomly appearing didn't really get much of a reaction from me either as I kind of expected it to happen.
That being said, the architecture of this mission is stunning. Couldn't fault it. Very high attention to detail and incredibly beautiful. Ambient music exactly the same. The UV lamp trail was also really well executed. Also those pictures drawn by the child are really good as well, very fitting.
Funny Story: As I was playing this mission a light in the kitchen blew, which in turn tripped the lighting circuit, plunging my house into darkness. Did kind of creep me out a bit.
And now for some questions:
What was the proper way into the cemetery area? I just launched over the wall by jumping across from the house.
Anyone else have difficulty in frobbing the cards? I had to be right up with my nose pressed against them before I could frob them, which made getting a couple that I saw pinned up on a roof or overhead arch practically impossible.
Anyone else have a problem with the first-aid kits getting randomly selected in the inventory? I'd just be frobbing something then suddenly I would have some more health.
The safe seems to work haphazardly. On one playthrough I could go and frob it open immediately without playing around with the switches, and the key would reappear every time you opened and closed it. I couldn't pick up the rest of the stuff in the safe. Was that normal?

Get into the kitchen via chimney stack from the attic, frob the fountain switch to stop the fountain and open the grate, drop down through the hole and then go through the crypt area, up the spiral stair, and you'll be in the cemetery area and can open the gates.

There is nothing else of interest in the safe, you're not supposed to be able to take the "junk".

A very big....
.........THANK YOU....for a lovely, spooky and original piece of art.
I am so jealous of you, not in a thousand years would I ever be able to squeeze Dromed into delivering something so polished as this, it wasn't just a mere joy to play, but a privilege and an honour.

Did kind of wonder why it was locked up with nothing but a key for your troubles.

You need to look around more carefully in the kitchen for something you can pick up, if you haven't already done so. Its also personal preference on your scare level. You didn't get scared, others did. All personal preference.

First of all, thank you BA for the help. Second, thank you SJ for letting my know of the color thing again (last time I was using blue text :p). Third is the reason for me using color, its purely for me, its easier to find my own posts therefor the answers to my questions if its different than the black and white. But because I want everybody to be able to read my posts (maybe I will need help from SJ some day) and I am a good girl and always :sly: do what I´m told from now on I will only use black text.
Wasn't trying to tell you what to do - just trying to make a suggestion for those of us that automatically skip your posts because of the custom colors being an eyesore ;)
Not that you'll read this anyway since you finished the mission already :laff:

The distance you had to be from the cards was carefully set so that you were unlikely to pick them up by randomly frobbing hoping there might be a card you couldn't see. Several of them had the distance you pick them up at increased between the last two betas so that you didn't need to be practically touching them. Card 13 had it's distance reduced so that you wouldn't be able to get it until the main objectives were complete. We didn't want the secret bonus objectives interfering with the mood of the thing in the middle of the mission.

The things in the safe that aren't the key are there to make it feel more safe like, you can't pick them up.
A few people have found that sometimes the safe doesn't work properly and you have to go downstairs then back to the safe before it behaves itself. It's one of the oldest things in the mission (it's from t7c2) and does appear to be a bit crazy.
The key teleporting back into the safe if you poke at it is on the list of reported bugs and will be fixed if an updated version is released.

Ok I went through and made a save game before turning on the dining room lights for the first time. I apparently am missing the surprise. Will someone please yell me what I am supposed to see? Thanks so much!

Turn on the light and then
... turn around. Look at the table.
