When I enter the crypt how do I open the door on the right side? I got to the crypt through the fountain. Is there anything to do down there?

No, it's just the way to get to where you've got to so that you can open the gate to get back there later when you've found the key to that door.

Another bug I feel is worth mentioning since it caused me to have to restart:
Closing the trapdoor that leads to the attic will lock it. I closed it the first time after climbing up, and then went down the chimney before undoing the lock on the other door. Couldn't get to the attic at all after that.
