Why don't you guys just create a Thief 2 v1.18 install? That's what I've done. I've got one install for multiplayer (1.18) and one install for NewDark(1.21.)
This is the solution but...

once you have a taste of NewDark, it's hard to go back.
BINGO!

I will try the mod on the 2nd game. Thx for tipp.

Well, something is better than nothing, but it sounds like you're not attached enough to care about it so that's fair. I understand not wanting to set it up just for one game.
Anyway, I wouldn't get your hopes up but it's possible it will happen.

Well, I'll admit that when I read your post I kind of glossed over the whole "crosover linux" thing, in fact I was about to say "what? 60 usd? who said anything about buying anything?" but it's also been some time since I saw your previous post. (I just got an email saying you replied to this thread.) I was thinking about just installing Thief 2(which is free if you already own the game :P ), not some other software.
So I guess Windows is out of the question? You don't have a copy of windows somewhere?

and what about to making a similar coop mod for the Dark Mod? I asked the authors, but they don't want to do it, but their source code is useable and public. Is anybody here for some coding works?

Not so much that they don't want to as they're understaffed for it. It's enough work just to maintain the normal stuff.
It'd take a lot of work. A number of systems like frobbing, inventory, object use, S&R, objectives, scripting, etc, etc, assume 1 player. It'd be awesome though. I hope somebody does it.

Of course you are right, but the result is same: No Coop :(

Seeing T2MP ported over to NewDark would complete the whole package of a modern, more-compatible dark engine.
Except this will probably never happen. I'll be happy to be wrong though!

I thought it was made perfectly clear that even on it's native Windows, 1.18 was difficult to configure correctly?
Yeah, but using windows over linux makes more sense in this case because it's a windows game [and it's more likely to be easier to get to run.]

Please tell me this isn't dead. .-.
By the way, I cant seem to get DDfix nor widescreen to work after i download the mod.
And if i reapply both of these, it removes the multiplayer.
I added the line to use ddfix in the config like Tos said awhile back, but i got distorted colors and a crash.
help?
voodoo47 on 7/4/2014 at 21:22
the currently available version is pretty much dead - Tos did say he does not have the time to develop it anymore if memory serves (and it wouldn't make much sense continuing it anyway, now that almost everyone is using NewDark), so all who want to play the multiplayer will be left on their own, trying to make the rusty gears of Dark 1.18 turn a couple of more times.
anyway, it should be possible to get it running, as long as you can get DDFix to work.

I can't recall exactly how I managed to get it to work, but I think you have to overwrite your original thief2.exe with the multiplayer patch, and then patch it with ddfix.
(I kept and used the ddfixgui.exe instead of manually patching the exe with a hex editor.)
I don't know about the widescreen patch. I seem to recall trying to patch thief2.exe with the weidu(?) dark widescreen patch and it didn't recognize the size of the exe since it was modified by the mp patch or ddfix.
edit:
I think you just have to use the resolutions supported with ddfix. You can manually change your resolution using cam.cfg by the way. I just checked mine and I had 1360 768
