Thanx, Eternauta, for tidying up this gem of a mission series - particularly interested in the new mission 1 map!
(Killing butterflies!? Some weird folk in these parts.....:erg: )

... even if you don''t know music, it is simple math:
b=-.5, #=+.5; 1bb## would still equal 1.WHAT? :confused:
I have
NO idea how you arrived at
b = neg 5 and # = pos 5
And "1bb## would still equal 1" only if the equation was:
1 + -5 + -5 + +5 + +5!
(you did'nt use any math signs in what you posted)
BUT - applying what you said to the
hidden letterI just can't come up with 4 single digits!
Specially since it did use math signs but like this:
6 + #b + ## + ## = ?
To me - since there was no "+" in between ## - then I see ## as 55! (and bb as -55)
Of course the "#b" means +5-5, which voids itself out of the equation.
Granted, math was never my forte - but I just must be missing something here! :erg:

Not 5, but 0.5. And these signs are standard musical notation for decrease (b) and increase (#) of the note by half a tone (i.e, 0.5 tone). In other words, it's "0.5 down" and "0.5 up".

Exactly. These aren't *MATH* signs.

Read them as v and ^ -- or as "-0.5" and "+0.5" -- so ## isn't 0.50.5, its +0.5+0.5 = 1.

Okay, thanx a bunch you two! :thumb:
I was making TWO mistakes! :o
Thinking in integers AND number line! :tsktsk:
(when I boo boo, I go for broke!) :laff:
Tho it still reqs some knowledge of musical notation! ;)
I'll be able to solve it now Tanner!
(least I Do know addition and subtraction! HAHA)
--------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: GOT IT!!! Thanks again!
btw - the two victrolas - a
red herring? cuz maybe they were a semitone apart (up and down - BUT - they were also at diff tempos!)
On to part 2! Oy - imma sucha masochist! LOL :cheeky:

I'm hopelessly stuck:
1. I want to get into the guest area. In the thread people vaguely mention a bookshelf with a book switch which i was unable to find anywhere on the second floor. Please point the exact room:(
2. I've completed all other objectives except "Find a way to get into the abbey". I've got no clues about it whatsoever. And please no vague info, i just want to finish the level:p

1. The bookcase is not on the second floor. It is in an alcove next to the Sitting Room on the first floor.
2. The "way to the abbey" is really just the exit from this mission. It's a door down the hall in the kitchen where you started the mission.
