Nice little mission pack - the atmosphere was as thick as the fog in the third night. The voice overs were nice, too, but Slyfoxx remains recognizable regardless how much he tries... ;-)
The best part for me was the writing, though: It was spot on and as an old Raymond Chandler fan I felt right at home. Kudos for staying true to the source material.
This classical American quarter is probably as good as you can build it with this old beast and the various graphics (signs, shops, "endless alleys" etc.) and effects (the car lights on the bridge, the various smoke effects) were the icing on the cake.
The only thing truly missing was the classic detective weapon: A snub-nosed .38 (special) or an old wartime Colt .45 automatic - even if non-functional in the game. This Marlowe was a bit too soft for my taste - but, hey, you can't argue over taste.
I also hoped for a few cars of that time period - when cars actually looked good - but all we got was a teamsters truck...
I have one real "gripe": When I saw the announcement recently I hoped for a bit more "gameplay" and a lot more locations to do stuff in.
And worse: We visit the same buildings at least twice and the most interesting one (the precinct) is very easy even on expert...
Don't call this a "film" and then quit - make a damn sequel and put the quarter & its private dick to more use!
Now we are hungry for more! :D

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the mission as much as you did. It's nice to hear that another noir aficionado found it good.
As for Slyfoxx, his voice is too distinctive, and we're all too familiar with it, to ever not recognize it. But that in no way detracted from the quality of his performance. I love what he did with the Nick character, and even after all this time hearing it, it still manages to make me grin.
We wanted a .38 in the mission, but we had to draw the line somewhere. It would have been nice set dressing, but it wasn't really needed for the story. And frankly we had our hands full already having to create a huge amount of custom content. It was just one of the many things we talked about that didn't make it into the final mission. Cars would have been nice too, but again, we had to draw the line somewhere. And frankly, it took much more time than I expected to build the truck. I wasn't prepared to take on cars as well. There was just too much else to do. So we settled for a couple of good images that seemed to work well enough to convey the idea.
But I agree with you about the gameplay, and I'm sure Russ does too. We both would have liked there to be more of it, but that wasn't our highest priority this time around. We put our efforts into creating the world and characters this time, since none of it existed before. Now that we have a basis, any future missions will require much less time on that aspect, and we can spend more time on other things. Even so, we tried to give the player some fun things to do within the constraints of the "film" scenario we created.
We've talked about a sequel already, but if we make one it will be some time before it happens. We both have other projects on our plates that have priority. And I think if Russ doesn't get back to work on DCE soon, there will be a lynching. :)

Great FM! I was surprised to find so unusual behaviour between AI!
But I am stuck on the third night.
What should I do with the Coroner's key? It doesn't open any of 2 doors I've found at the warehouse.

Indeed, why would the coroner's key open any door at the warehouse? Follow derfy's suggestion, but be sure he doesn't hear the tape playing or he'll become suspicious.

Have you listened to the coroner's report yet? I just ran away before it ended. Thanks!

Well, folks, we have 12 T2 missions so far in the first 5 months of 2016. I thought I was going to have an easy year writing walkthroughs. :p
