In this case you will probably enjoy Insanity's Crescendo too.
I'm really enjoying it, started yesterday, played like 5 hours (spent a lot of time trying to figure out some puzzles, I hate to rersort to external help), couldn't stop until 3am. I suspected
it had a second part, but didn't think it was actually the main part of the FM and sooo interesting, such type of gameplay is exactly what I like the most. Still haven't finished it.

I feel like such a fool to have missed this but I cannot find what I need to end this mission! I have completed all the objectives except for the optional ones. What am I missing? :(

This is very unusual. Please give me more information. What objectives have you completed so far?

I helped out via PM, Haplo. She hadn't found the ring because she was missing 1 gem.

Thanks.
There is a hints directory in your Thief2 directory, created when you installed the mission. Check it.
I tried both hints and neither will open up that slot in the middle.

What's the slot in the middle you're referring to?

In the torch puzzle room.

hmm, I tried the first of the two solutions and it works pretty straight-forward. I'm assuming you don't end up with all the torches lit, and that there's not some technical issue? Draw a circle with the eight torches numbered like this:

1, 4, 7, 8, 2, 3, 5, 6 solution, light torch 1 (this can be whatever torch you choose to start with), then torch 4, and 7 etc. I don't know what more I can say honestly. Just make sure you count correctly. You'll have to 'unlight' a couple as you go, but it will all work out in the end if you keep going.

The 2nd one has you skipping 2 every time. That didn't work either. I reverted to an earlier save before the flare and wand then saved right at that room to try 1, reload and try the other. Neither method worked. :(
Well that was ODD! I just loaded up, tried method 2 and it worked. Go figure. :o
