Not sure exactly as my lootlist does not mention Annuska's room specifically but there are some lodgings near the docks, guess her room is in there. (

The problem with Gustav's key might be related to the language in which the mission is played. The german label of the key rather says "Gustav's apartment" than "Gustav's room", suggesting it's Gustav's home that the key is for. And since Anushka's diary also talks about Gustav's home as well as his (hotel) room, mentioning them as two separate places, one could easily be fooled into believing that Garrett has to find Gustav's apartment to proceed. I made the same mistake yesterday.

I remember when I played this mission for the first time I absolutely loved it. Now that I replay it in ghosting style I only realize how bugged this mission is. Guards and servants stay still when you save and load. After the cripplewood event guards suddenly don´t attack you anymore. The healing potion in locker 1 in the library is supposed to be a secret, but it doesn´t activate for me. And these are only a few to mention

I replayed this mission yesterday, but did not find many bugs. The guards always reacted normally. The only little bug that repeatedly occurred was that lockpicking was a problem if I was in direct contact with a lock. Picking often did not work, and no pick sound was heard. Going back just a tiny bit usually made it work.
No idea why the mission had so many problems when you played it. I used NewDark v1.27 (made with T2Fix v1.27e). If you used, for example, v1.28, that would probably explain it. Or maybe some of the scripts did not work correctly. No other ideas come to my mind at the moment.

I am also playing with v1.27. Did you ghost the mission? I didn´t have any mentionworthy bugs in my previous playthroughs, only now that I ghosted it a lot of bugs occured (mainly with the guards) and especially their behaviour.
I can´t remember if the secret not counting bug with the healing potion happened in my previous playthroughs aswell, but I know that it was a thing before Fortuni made the dml. So no idea why this happens for me again.

I now re-played the mission on Normal difficulty up to just after the Cripplewood incident, and this time avoided being seen by AIs. No reload has resulted in idle AIs so far. The secret in library locker 1 worked normally, as did the secret in locker 2 (which is set up the same way as the one in locker 1). The latest DMLs fix these two library secrets by using NVScript, which the original mission did not need. If I make NVScript unavailable for the game and play up to the point where I can open locker 1 in the library, that secret does not tick off. Maybe NVScript did not work for you this time - an error message in the Thief2.log file after starting the mission (but maybe not after loading a savegame) might confirm that.
Two guards indeed did not attack Garrett right after the Cripplewood incident. These are a male and a female guard patrolling aroung the "Luna Azure". Other guards weren't that friendly, and once the two overly friendly guards were alarmed by their colleagues or screaming citizens, they might join in the chase for Garrett. Most likely these two guards had to be "pacified" by the FM author so that they would not be hostile towards Garrett if they witnessed the incident, or appeared on-scene with some signs of what had happened still visible.
Strange, though, that you had so many bugs.

Playing again on hard after 11 years. Might as well be the first time becuase I don't remember it at all. Having a lot of fun and going super slow. I have almost 2 hours of play into it and I'm not too far into the map. Been to the Luna Cafe, but not much further. Trying my best not to cheat by reading the walkthrough or spoilers. So far no bugs. I did apply the DML. And so far no problem with quick saves. Had a tiny bit of framerate drop at the start, but nothing terrible.
If you haven't played this FM in a while, it's worth a replay. If you've never played it, I think you will find it a top notch FM.
