If anyone else is still having trouble getting this going I found that if I copied and pasted the gen.osm and convict.osm into Thief2 rather than extracting, the mission worked. Can't swear that's the answer but worth a try.

Was the book in the Dinning room a Guest list? I had that problem@ nickie too. Thanks to nightwalker/
If you are experiencing problems, download (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/darkloader/ThiefScripts.zip). Open up the file and you'll see a T2 folder. Extract the new copies of the GEN.OSM and CONVICT.OSM files that you find inside and drop them into your Thief 2 game folder, allowing them to overwrite the ones already in there. That fixes some problems similar to the one you described as well as some problems with objectives not checking off properly with the Sold Out version.
It works

Gillie, for you last question: You mean the messages, that you get when you frob the people, right? They are congratulations for the wedding couple (Darklady and her now husband) from the people, that built, tested and helped with the mission. There was also the opportunity for everyone from the community to write his wishes in the guest book.

But the trouble was Gillie that just extracting didn't work. Only after I deleted the original ones and copied and pasted the new ones into T2 folder, did it work. I imagine for some reason they didn't overwrite the originals. I have a vague memory of a similar problem with another fm where I had to do the same, but can't remember which one now.

After reading your post I seem to remember that I had a similar problem while testing the mission. At least I had to extract / overwrite / copy (don't know what helped in the end) those scripts several times, but eventually it worked.

I loved
The guests the bot and the one with a bag on her headThose are some great little touches, Sinister does have a very good sense for details like that.
The spider-bot was for Spinnenbot (german for spider-bot) and the lady with the bag "is" Yalda, whose avatar on the german Eidos forum is wearing a bag over the head as well. Both tested the mission.

I exploded one by accident - rather pretty I thought.
Sorry, I forgot to say that I got some time and played through this and thought it was great. I love it when I come across oddities in an fm and the rat was certainly one. Tried a couple of times to get the robot to follow. First time he overtook me and killed me, second worked like a charm and I cleaned out the room whilst he was occupied with the rat I really liked the party guests when I worked out what was going on. It was a delight - thank you.

I've finished everything else, but I can't find the bouquet. Where is it?
