Ah so that´s what it was about. Makes total sense, but never would have guessed it. Now that you mentioned it, I did wonder why the vault code was in the lawyers room. Usually it´s either in Duncans room or in his office. It was in the guards barracks once too.

This FM provides everything I love. A complexe manor, a solid gameplay and an investigation.
When I play investigation games, I usually write everything on a paper, old school style. There a few games that are so complexe that we need to do that. And this mission is on the list.
To satisfy your curiosity, this is the A3 format paper I used. You will recognise many things I think :

Need a little help [...]
Jack of Diamonds. Hammer trappings? But where? The Hammerite priest room? Cant be.
Thanks for the great fun!
I still do look for the
Jack of Diamonds? Where is the giant hammer?Found it -
Southeast Tower, 3rd floor.Edit: And I still miss some parts of
Gregors Revelation - I would happily be able to read
part 7, 9 and 10.
Excellent and beautiful mission, by the way - in storytelling, by architecture and by gameplay. Definitively a top tier triple excellent rating. :D
In my case it was Elisabeth, the wife of the now deceased Lord Duncan Malveine.
Very beautiful story of a typical murder case -
jealousy after finding out her husband cheated on her, the right type of poison in her room, no alibi, acted strange on day before murder. Something classy you would read in a crime novel

Just finished this masterpiece!! :D
Thank you nicked for this well-crafted mystery! Finished with 4791 loot (missing 220), all secrets, all bonus objectives, all missives, all playing cards. Needed hints on the forum for 4 cards, 2 secrets, 1 missive and 2 bonus objectives. Thank you to those who post nice, soft hints without direct spoilers, much appreciated. I correctly accused Darcey Malveine for the murder, and framed the cook (quite randomly). Very sad to see she died due to my actions, that doesn't seem in the spirit of Garrett really. Thank you to Samantha1 for her breakdown of all possible murderers. I was wondering if all 16 suspects from the starting readable could be the killer. Very clever use of randomizations, without making it tedious. The playing cards seemed over the top at first, but the books of suit really helped.

That was the original plan, but I ran into just about every limit it's possible to hit with this mission. Also there were originally quite a few more characters; testing showed it was confusing and overwhelming so I merged several characters into each other. I think if I was to redo this concept I would have made it a much smaller location and without any extra stuff, so that replaying it a few times in a row was easier.

@klatremus: A small request for your upcoming let's play: try not to scout ahead before you begin recording. It'd be cool to see some improvisation. ;)

Oh absolutely! Each restart randomizes a lot of variables, so it'll be as new to me as to the viewers. I didnt read any spoilers regarding murder scenarios, so I dont know the details surrounding each permutation. I just know that there are a lot of possible murderers (though not all 16 from what nicked said) and the vault code and placement of body and hints change, I've heard. This will make it difficult to plan a route, but I take it that's what you would like to see.

@nicked: Is the location of the control panel for the electrical floor randomized upon starting the mission, just like many of the other variables (for example the murderer)? If so, is there a 25% chance of it being in each tower? Also, is this information always found in the vault security manual, and is this always located in Duncan Malveine's bedroom? Finally, is the information on the location of this switch found anywhere else? Thanks
The reason I am asking is if it is located in the northwest tower, then that forces a Supreme bust. If it is located in any of the other towers, it doesn't.

Yes
the location is randomised between the four towers. And the vault manual is the only place with the instructions and it does not move.

Thanks! Additionally, what does the control panel in the clocktower do? Turn off the clock...?
