No, those two things aren't connected. Sounds like just the randomness not being especially random.

Thanks nick :) I assume then there is zero way of determing which murder case you will get right? I´m just asking because I´d like to try out every single one of them but I guess the odds to get each one of them without having to play some repeatedly are very low, especially since I already managed to get the same one twice out of 3 playthroughs :D
Btw I also love how Theodore Malveine grabs his sword if you wake him up. He was bugged after that and didn´t move, but still, it was pretty cool :D

Yeah there's no way of knowing which murder case you will get (unless you force it by deleting some links in Dromed).
Almost everyone who is asleep will have a routine they will go through if you wake them up but don't Level 3-alert them.

I guess the best approach for Samantha1 would be to write down what proof is there for a certain person to be the murderer, and check for those shortly after restarting the mission. If the evidence for the guilty is found again, she can abort playing and restart right away... and hope for the best.

I see, thats pretty cool :) How many murder cases are there in total? Does every family member, guest and servant have a murder case? I´m still waiting to get the cook, the captain and especially the bastard Raymond :D
Baeuchlein, thats what I currently do :) So far I had 6:
-Luzie Malveine (daugther in law): stabbed duncan with a knitting needle in the renovated place and he fell down to the garden. Reason: She wanted money
-The lawyer: drowned duncan with the wine in the wine cellar. Reason: He wanted duncan to rewrite his testament so that the lawyer gets the wine stock
-the hammerite priest: crushed him to death with his hammer in the prayers room (that one was the easiest). Reason is obvious: Duncan converted to the mechanists
-the actress: killed duncan with a skull in the theater. She was only defending herself since duncan forced himself on her, so the hanging of her part was not okay. That judge should be judged himself
-Leon malveine (son, the pagan one): Killed him with a shovel in the garden. Reason is obvious: Duncan became a mechanist and even fired the gardener
-Victor Levitt (son in law, the one with the wonder creme): Killed duncan by feeding him his awful creme and shoved him down the tower so he fell down the garden. Reason: Duncan was about to reveal the truth about Levitts wonder creme

Think there's 9 (?) scenarios total. I wanted to do one for every character, but ran out of object IDs and patience.

So 3 more to go :D I seriously hope you gave that bastard Raymond a murder case. If not I will have to falsely accuse him of the murder so I can see him hang :laff:
Anyway, awesome mission Nick! :thumb:

All right, only 1 more to go. Case 7 and 8 for me were
-Elizabeth Duncan (the wife). Poisoned him with crushed water hemlock. Reason: Duncan had an affair with Agatha Harkwell
Darcey Malveine (daughter). Poisoned him with deadly nightshade. This one was the hardest for me so far cause I had trouble finding any clues. Reason is obvious: Duncan converted to the mechanists
Btw there was also one thing I did not understand:
When Elizabeth is the murderer, there is also a note from the lawyer in the cooks room, telling her to follow the doctor and see where he goes. The diary of the doctor also speaks of some secret, which the lawyer knows about. What was that about? It kinda sounds like Elizabeth had an affair too?

All right I managed to get the last murder case (after lots of trying) - 9/9 - Pretty cool :D
Last one was:
-Judith Belcher (the cook): Killed him by putting poison in his food and he died in his office. Reason: Her son was stomped to death by Ducans horses near his house and she wanted revenge.
Btw sorry to spam this thread, but playing through all of the cases was a real blast this week! :) The only question that´s still open for me is the one I asked in my post above this one.

the vault code location (which has 10 possible locations). In this case,
the code is in the lawyer's room, and there are clues to indicate that he got the code by blackmailing the doctor (see also the doctor's journal and a letter from the head of security in Darcey's room).
