You can get to those places on the lowest difficulty but there's absolutely no reason to do so. I like playing on the middle (Legionnaire) difficulty. It gets you into the cathedral and the grand library to solve some objectives.

Now I can't go into any library or bookstore without that phrase popping into my head.
"I love books, such pretty colors."

Don't forget those white devils!

Strange thing happens: I killed purples' mage on the tower (with a blackjack), but this killing was not against the mission's rules.

Sad this series will probably never be finished. The architecture/design was breathtaking. I always thought it was brutal hard, but always found myself replaying it over the years.

It's true. The mission's atmosphere is uncommon, indeed.
But that is a very big work - make only mission for years. I don't know, for how many years it had been made, at least six, I thought. The author should have a very big inspiration and desire to make such project again.

Wow, this is such a masterpiece. After being really disappointed in CoSaS mission 2, this mission was such a delight.
The design and quality is topnotch but also the gameplay was really enjoyable. I had problems at the beginning with those two golden guys blocking the way. No matter how I threw the noise arrow they would never have their backs on me and come running after me. I had to reload at least 20 times till it worked out. But after that it was very enjoyable. Next time I´ll just lure them into the gas traps:angel:
What I liked the most was the cathedral. So stunning with all those colours and the big pictures.
I played on normal (usually I play in expert but here I switched to normal because of those gold guys in the beginning). I was regretting that later because in normal its enough to be in just one building to complete your objectives. So I just looked up all the other icons even though I didn´t have to. Good thing is, next time I can replay it in expert and also try the bonus objective :D
Anyway, I Loved it! 10/10!
The campaign is dropped though I guess? :(

Yes. The remains of the Imperium are available on darkfate.org:
(
https://darkfate.org/view/details/files/fan-missions/thief2/hammerite_imperium/)
These consist of several unfinished missions in various stages of development, several screenshots, and mission write-ups which show what the developers once had in mind.
Only "The Seven Shades of Mercury" has been turned into a completely playable mission, although with some changes to what was once planned, according to the write-ups.

So I know this is probably a forever dead project, but is there any chance of a Kickstarter or GoFundMe to get something cohesive together? The quality of even this one mission is enough to keep one coming back.

I think there's a better chance of you personally taking the map files, learning how to map, and finishing them off as you have something money can't buy: motivation. ;)
