If it's where I think, there's a wood rim around a small grate in the ceiling.

i've completed the mission (great by the way) but with only 1 secret, can anybody post a list?

There are two in my second area (I think):
Both are in the crypt area of the church. The first is dead easy to find. The second is a secret within a secret.
Thank you!!! I made it!
This was SOME rollercoaster trip into Thief!!!:ebil:
I didn't get all of the loot, only found 1 secret ..... but I'm glad to be alive:thumb: So ... no worries.
This must be the really best "f..k..g" screwed up FM I ever played!
It was tough, but playable (sometimes :nono: ) but you're forgiven!
Everyone did his bit!
That was very ennovating!
I missed some "obvious" items for a FM to play, like picking up stuff in further empty rooms a.s.o., but that's OK!
This FM compensates on several levels!
Please authors of FM's: DON'T USE MATHEMATICS INTO THESE GAMES!!!! PLEASE ???!
Thank you AUTHORS for this great game, but also thank you TAFFERS for helping me out!
I wouldn't have finished this one without you !:thumb:

Anyone else having this problem? John Denison's area to start with has nearly zero framerate going for me...can anyone send me a copy of the game that's saved past that, just so I can get started with the rest of it? Thanks!
Just past the first room, that is...

I had a simular problem a bit later. Didn't know what to do. Don't expect me to give you a technical answer here, because I don't know about this.
What I did was: clean up my computer with the Clean disk programm and I than rebooted my computer. It was allright then, but I must admitt I also had some troubles with this during the whole playing time. I'm not really sure why.
So try this ... it might help!
If not: Tell me how to copy my save and send it to you. I'll do that! You shouldn't miss this one ...:ebil:
Success, Gloria Creep.

That's really strange because there is nothing unusual in there. If your framerate is slow in a nothing room then it will probably continue elsewhere. :)

Really odd, tho, that it (and the area just beyond that) is very sluggish, yet a giant and highly detailed FM like The Power of Suggestion runs perfectly fine. Could be custom graphics existing elsewhere in the Chain FM, which I think I read is true...I remember some customized fountains or some such object(s) running slow for me as I "pass my eyes" over them in another FM or two.
I also just freed up a bunch of previously used space on my computer, and should probably defrag A.S.A.P. as Gloria C. suggested... afterward, onwards and upwards! It did run a little better after a fresh re-boot, as it turns out.
