I really loved that FM. I thought it had some great atmosphere and good sneaky game play, and some tense timing moments. It is one of the older gems. Now that I've read this thread and been reminded of it, I sort of want to go play it again. It's a good one! :thumb: :thumb:

Replaying this enjoyable FM.
I'm hunting for a particular secret: In the "flare maze," I see a discolored place on the floor where I vaguely remember a secret opens... but I can't find the switch for that secret!
Anybody remember how to open this one?
Thanks,
Dafydd

I'm not sure what you mean by "flare maze" but I have a list of the secrets and none of them are in floors so perhaps that's just a funny texture.

i found many illogical moments in this one, and the door picks were all insanely high distracting from rather than adding to gameplay. all the broadheads and moss arrows exhibited deathstage 12, some roombrushing was bad. and i don't know why the hammerites were included in the mission.

Thanks to Nightwalker, I got all the secrets in the first; now I'm missing one in the second mission.
I got the openable crate, the secret chest in the "secure storage," and the treasure chest on the bottom of the drink, but there should be one more. I tried playing with the telescopes and the ship's wheel, climbing up the mast and jumping off, and all the chests, seachests, and toolboxes in dark corners I could find. I even slashed all the banners I noticed, but no dice*.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dafydd
* I mean this in the aphorismic sense; I'm not specifically looking for dice. Or mice. Or lice.

Playing on Hard is your problem. You can't find all the secrets in this mission unless you are playing on Expert.

I still haven't found the items, in the first objective.....I was thinking they were in one of the 3 secrect places I talked about not finding in my first post......If not point me in the right direction...I have the loot objective.......just need to find the items...hint hint.....
Nightwalker on 17/12/2005 at 16:11
I'm afraid it's been far too long since I've played this and I just don't remember what the special items are much less where they are. I wish it had seperate objectives for each item as that would make it easier to remember. Try (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45901) this thread . It's huge and you might find what you need in there.

Re-resurrected. :ebil:
I am playing on expert, and have almost finished this nicely made, fun to explore, yet extremely
frustrating mission.
I have 11 of 13 secrets, 10 of which I found without resorting to this thread. I also have 1772 of 2252 loot. The last two secrets, and the last of the loot, are my issues, as I need 2000 minimum to complete this on expert. I have been scouring the mansion for an hour looking for it, and trying to find:
Quote Posted by nightwalker
North of balcony - switch behind pillar by a statue - opens a secret door next to the balcony door.
South of balcony - switch behind pillar by a statue - opens a secret door next to the S. balcony door. I've found the switches, but not what they &*$%'ing open.
After spending 2 hours arguing with some very sensitive guards over my rights to explore this wonderfully tile floored mansion, discovering that
the loot objective I came here for isn't here at all, then spending another hour arguing with them some more, I'm getting extremely frustrated, and just want the mission over.
Could someone
please tell me where the $%# the last two secrets are, and maybe point me at a lootlist?
On a side note I am just as curious as Dafyyd about that floorboard in the maze. Does it open or what?
Please no hints, I've had enough of this mission, fun as it was to explore. Total step by step spoilers more than welcome.
Edit:Make that 1997 loot :erg::grr: and a time now of 4 hours, 2 spent combing the place:mad:
