i heard a sound that sounded like a sound from uru , its when walking up first set of stairs on outside above the table and chair
If you mean on the roof, that is a combo of sounds from NOLF and Civ IV.

Gave that room a final attempt. This time I made a little progress because I can sometimes see the outside edges of the platform on the peripheral of my vision, and could use that to skim along the edge and prevent myself from falling off... most of the time.
I managed to explore a little this way, and found a loot item up there worth 10... but nothing else.
It's interesting how one room can tarnish an otherwise fine endeavour... but right now I'm mostly curious as to
why I can't see a thing in there. Is it a problem on my end, or the author's end?
I was able to play this FM just fine until I reached this room as well — the problem was the bloom. Are you sure you haven't enabled post-processing in the cam_ext.cfg? Without it, it's a lot easier to see things. BTW, I'm playing in 4k without issue.

Nah, sadly this one's not for me. Too frustrating - no sense of direction, just blundering about.
Unusual idea though!

Did you try changing your resolution to 1080p? As the readme says, resolution affects view distance.
You mean the 'unreadable' readme? The one that's missing its .txt file extension?
Well, I know it now, but that didn't fix the problem.

THANK YOU, that was the problem. I had "post-processing" (bloom) enabled, but none of the other options related to it.
It was when I
disabled postprocess in cam_ext.cfg that vision was immediately restored. (I hate bloom.)
(Fun fact: You can play this FM with the brightness meter turned all the way down without it affecting gameplay.)
This answers my question as to why this particular problem was happening: The FM is not fully tested on all systems and configurations, hence not all relevant information was available to players.

No extension implies raw text.

I hoped "override artistic overrides" in the difficulty screen would be a wide enough umbrella to cover everyone's weird settings, since I didn't want to check every permutation of cam_ext.cfg. Thanks SneakSnake for narrowing this down.
I uploaded 1.2 with "postprocess 0" in fm.cfg and clarified the readme.

Thank you for your efforts. Despite this bump and my apparent displeasure, I felt it was worth the effort (and possibly ruffling a few feathers) to get this FM right and proper, as this is easily one of the biggest headturners in Thief FM-history.
This FM is a literal paradigm shift in what can be squeezed out of the Dark Engine.
Well done.
