From Lucrethia's room
there is a secret passage to the garden, but you can also go in the garden normally, Lucrethia has the key. Don't worry about the library for now! ;)
Good luck! :)

I must be missing something obvious.
I've been to the garden from Lucretia's room. I've found the locked door to the big hole but don't have a key. I've opened the wall to the well but again don't have a key. I was guessing that I'm missing something in the last two rooms in the mansion that are still locked - Rowena's room and the library. I did stumble upon what I guess is the bonus objective between Lt. Wilson & Lucretia!
What an incredible mission this is Lady Rowena! You've done such a wonderful job of weaving a story and creating an atmosphere! This is better than any mission that came with Thief! Thank you!
I WAS MISSING SOMETHING OBVIOUS!! I somehow didn't even try picking a lock which was pickable... I'm continuing on now, so I don't need any additional hints! Thanks!

LOL Yeah. In this mission you expect to find a key to everything. It would be easy to forget to "Pick" a lock.
Lady Rowena on 12/2/2004 at 23:46
Did you see that
big hole surrounded by a tall fence in the garden? You just have to go down there.....;)
You can open the door of the fence with the lockpics.
I'm very glad you're enjoying my mission. :)

Thanks, Lady Rowena.
I realized that I had been so busy looking for keys that I hadn't tried picking the lock on the door of the big hole. Once I tried that, I was back in business. I am having a hard time getting through all the demons of hell. The sword doesn't kill them right away and they end up killing me first. I'm a little frustrated now...
What a grand mission it is!

Remember the old BACKSTAB routine. Works well. Use the niches at the ends of the ramps.
Also, if you have not met Duncan yet. You can take him out with a barrage of arrows from the shadows. Definitely increases your suvival index.

Thanks Blackman.
I came at the ghost in the cemetery (was this Duncan?) from behind with the sword. **Is that considered a backstab?** I also used a moss arrow and came at Cedric from behind, too. I didn't have any trouble with them. It's the first demon, just inside the gate of hell. He's facing the only entrance and he doesn't seem to turn around. I come at him with the sword but he gets me first or gets the others after me. I don't have alot of equipment left, either.
The one across the chasm? watch him. He turns and looks behind himself. Go left into the shadow niche at the left end. When the wandering demon passes you sneak out behind him to the left and get him just at the entrance to the tunnel.
Then creep into the tunnel. Ease up to the opening on the right where the demon is standing. Stay on the left side of the tunnel. Mantle up onto the sarcophagous. You will be in deep shadow. Watch for the wandering demon, if you have not done him in. Watch the watcher. When he turns to look out over the chasm, crouch, slide off the sarcophagous. Sneak up behind him and use the FULL SWORD SWING (backstab).
Yeah I meant Cedric. Sorry about that. :D
You can sneak past all the demons at the entrance. wait for the wanderer. When he passes, creep to the niche at the left. When he comes out on the far side to the left of the watcher, creep into the tunnel. Use the shadows on the sarcophagous. When the wanderer passes again, and the watcher has his back to you creep out to the left. Stay close to the wall when you come out into the chasm and sneak under the watcher. He won't see you. If you time it right you can do this all the way to the bottom by using the niches.

In Rowena's room there is a doctored picture of Leila Waddell, Crowley's scarlett woman. Whose face is it that is superimposed upon it?
A really excellent FM b.t.w. Kudos.

Just an update, the last time I played this FM I was hit with the exploding barrel thing again, but I found a workaround. If anyone else has this happen, shoot the barrel with a water arrow. When I did that I was able to put the barrel down without being dismembered by the explosion. Hope this helps someone! :)
