The thing that fooled me for a lot of attempts was that I jumped too early. When you start the running, you have to make the jump JUST before you fall off the rock you are jumping from. After I realized this, I´ve had about a 50% success rate on this jump on replays.

Okay, this is going to be the dumbest request for help in this thread.
I've gone down the hole and made my way into Rowena's room (the red room?) and gotten the library key. The only way out of the room is back into the tunnel (I think), where I get blocked by the rocks that fell after I passed that point on my way in. Clearly, there must be some other way out, but I can't find it. Please help.
OMG: I just went back and found the key thirty seconds after posting.

OMG: I just went back and found the key thirty seconds after posting. Don't worry. You are not the first. If you have not already, I suggest you scroll this entire thread from page one when you have a question.
You can read the "Help me" notes and avoid opening the spoilers. If you find the same question being asked that you were going to ask (and I'm sure you will), then read the spoiler. :D

I've read all the notes and diaries several times, and I've been through this entire thread several times without being able to figure out what I need to do now.
I have found the secret room in the library and gotten two keys (key) and (chest key), but cannot find what they are for. I thought that the left door in the chapel (the sacristy) would correspond with one of them, but it does not.
I have blown away the dungeon wall, revealing the well door, which I cannot unlock. I
have found all four doors to the Sword room, but I cannot figure out how to begin looking for the elements, and, as I stated above, I cannot get to Rowena's key.
At this point I am assuming that the key to get to Rowena's key is in the sacristy, and that the key to get to the sacristy is located somewhere I cannot find, but already have the key to (key or chest key).
At this point I would not be disappointed by a straight-out answer.

Glennicus -
The plain key that you found should unlock the other door in that small hidden office off of the Library. It will take you out onto the rafters above the chapel. Walk down to the far end and use the "Chest" key to unlock the chest there and that will get you the key for the door in the torture room.
I d/led this one and it looks excellent but my PC drags so much on playing this once any 'action' takes place that it has been unplayable virtually - from the threads it seems a mite tough to sneak entirely so I would be grateful for any advice as to how I can play without enountering this problem [and no, I cant afford an upgrade to the PC].
Thanks

This here mission was one of the most impressive I've played so far. I applaud. I loved the fact that you have to creep very carefully, and plan your actions in relatively small spaces, like single corridors. I have only played the version 1, but I'm downloading the v2 as we speak.
@Rowena:
Btw. I found a "bug" or whatever it may be in v1, don't know if you fixed it in v2. It occurred in the hidden room in the library with the safe containing the journal and the 2 keys. I used the Chest key I got from the safe to close the safe (by frobbing the safe door with the key). Then I proceed to open the safe with the same means, and the Chest key and the journal were back in the safe (the had also disappeared from my inventory). The "bug" is that the second key had also disappeared from my inventory, but it didn't appear in the safe again. Hence I'm starting over. Luckily I can now start the v2.

Your only problem will be by-passing the guards. :D Keep a good supply of water arrows handy, or be super ghosty with the rescued maiden. :D :D

No, none of the betatesters or of the players reported to have found a bug in that room, so I didn't fix anything.
I can only suggest to save the mission before opening the safe and don't touch it anymore once you get the diary and the two keys. I don't really know what's happened.
I just have no time now to check if it is a bug with the
well door key, but to be sure don't use it on another door, expecially don't use it on any OPEN or NOT LOCKED door
I hope you'll enjoy the 2nd version. :)

That, of course, is not something a veteran player would try. With the keys mostly labled, and with the key FROM the safe, to relock the safe with a key you removed from the safe, which opened with an entirely different key, is not a rational act. :D
Not that Thief players are "rational" but not something you would test or expect a person to attempt to do. :D
