I tried but the site refuses to accept my connection. That goes for all FM's :(
Strange..

Ha! I did it! I spent two hours hunting for the remaining 450 gold after getting Isabella up. Phew - I can't imagine that there are still 1400 minus the Horn I haven't found yet. That stuff must be better hidden than the Secrets. At least now I can read the spoilers in this thread without feeling like an utter incompetent :cheeky:.

Goldie81, the problem's certainly not going to get fixed if you don't report it. I just happened to see your message here, but without more detail I'm afraid that I'm not actually going to be able to do anything to help you. Can you seen the index page ( (
http://thiefmissions.com/) )? What IP address are you coming from?
Goldie81 on 24/6/2003 at 08:55
All the pages work fine. Its only when i push the download mission button (either if its auto starting or not) i get that message.
I don't know my IP as it's found automatically. I tried figure it out, but no luck.
When i downloaded missions from Cheap page before I used Download Accelerator Plus. Let me try without it, hang on...
BINGO!! Ugh, I feel so stupid! It worked fine now, when I don't use DAP :)

You are welcome. As I said in one of the earlier posts, I believe that
SPOILERS
should not be used until an FM has been out for a week or so. If an individual is truly trapped or stymied and screams for help, a PM or EM should be used to that individual.
The instant gratification and revelation of secrets destroys the play of the game. I much prefer to give hints that point to an action or decision, or stimulate the player to think (or re-think) a part where they are stuck.
I, for one,
never read a thread on an FM until I have played completely through it, and then only if I have successfully reached all the objectives. If I am, and I have been, completely stuck then I might ask for a hint (that's HINT with capitol letters) to assist my struggling thief. But that's just my personal take on the subject of
SPOILERS
and giving away the plot or action.
Most people cannot resist a secret. So when they look as a thread such as this, they will read the damn spoiler anyways, and the loose chatter that is not {SPOILER} gives away too much as well. Some individuals love to display their "skill, or knowledge" as an ego booster and really detract from the play of a new FM for the game.
Don't tell me the end of the book or movie. I want to get there myself. :D :p

I know this mission has been out for awhile, but it just so happens that I haven't gotten around to it properly until recently.
I have nothing else to say but to give high praise to this outstanding mission! I hold missions with a good story in the highest regard, and Rowena's Curse has got me enchanted. Nightwalker recommended this mission to me, and from that point on I was 100% sure I was going to enjoy it like nobody's business. And right she was. I'm having a great time!! :thumb:
This is a fantastic mission, and as I understand this is the author's first, which makes it even more amazing!
Congratulations on a brilliantly entertaining Fan Mission! :D

I have one more criticism of the mission:
There are two "kill X" objectives in the mission. I dislike missions where Garrett has to use a sword to complete an objective. If any killing is to be done, I'd prefer it the way the Trickster avatar was killed in TDP, something like "place object X at place Y to make A kill herself". That would be more in style for a thief.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents of kudos and congrats to Lady Rowena for a excellent mission!! :thumb:
Just finished with 8229 loot and 5 of 8 secrets. I've seen hints here for my two remaining secrets (since the 8th is unattainable),
Under a plank outside the white room
and
False wall in the cabinet in the next bedroom (Rowena's?) to the white room
...but after spending more time than I'd care to mention, I'm still perplexed. Oh, well... I think I'll wait for the next release to play again and find these, and of course, MORE LOOT!! :) :)

The 2 secrets you refer to.....
The plank on the ground is located underneath a lean-to in a small open area just outside of Lisette's bedroom. The false wall in the cabinet is in the next bedroom also to Lisette.
Thanks, Clock! Your hint helped me with the
secret under the plank, but I had already found the fake wall behind the dresser. So, now the only secret I thought I found that could be wrong is "in the barracks". I thought that either Silias' treasure, or the chest behind the overturned bed in the room with the spiders were the secret in the barracks. Since I found them so long ago, I couldn't remember if a "found secret" had checked off. So, now I'm scouring the barracks again.
Hopefully, I'll find that last one now.... :laff:
