There's another passageway that you're just not seeing.
Face the skull on the wall that you frobbed to teleport into the room with the puzzle and look to your right. Follow that passageway to find the way out.
Hangs head in shame.
Sorry if I've missed a clue in the previous posts, I'm very early in the game and tried not to read posts that were clearly much later than I am; but I'm stuck! I have only completed the reading Carlyles letter goal, grr.
I can reach most of the garden, though there is a locked door beyond the chapel I can't open and there is a portcullis to a garden area with guards and statues that I can't open. I can't get in the cemetary. I can't find a way into the chapel, though there is a nice little tunnel under it that leads to the furnace room. I've jumped at the outside chapel windows and clicked madly; but sadly found no keys there. I found a bottle of liquor under the stairs though, a consolation prize of sorts. I've found only two bedrooms that I can open, one with a cradle and a nanny and
a tunnel to a door I can't open with crossed keys
and a blue bedroom with a very snobby young man in the bathroom.
No white bedroom to try to find Isabella's diary.
Everywhere I turn doors are locked against me! I don't even know where the library is!
I've found the telescope in Barker's room, but not what if anything it does. I've also searched the female guard's room to a faretheewell, but find no ring nor any secrets either.
I've found many secrets and passageways, but nothing to further my game. Drinks from liquor bottle. Sniffles sadly.
I don't want clues on all these issues, just trying to let people know where in the game I am and ask for a gentle hint or two as to what I'm missing and where I should head next.
This is an excellent mission, I bow in awe to Rowena.

Have another look around the main floor. I think you may have missed something in
Lt. Wilson's room
. Otherwise, just keep exploring and reading. You

Okay, off to find that room now. Thanks.
Sips from the liquor bottle, then puts it down and heads off with determination.

I'm missing a secret, apart from the unattainable 8th secret.
1.
Behind the bed
2.
Under the plank outside from where #1 is
3.
The false wall in the cabinet in the next bedroom to #1
4.
Under the stairs outside the church doors
5.
In the barracks
6.
the passageway between two turbines? in the basement
This of course is meant to be helpful for those who don't want to plow through 10+ pages, looking for answers.
Note that I didn't mention the "you know what".
Anyone have the secret I'm missing ?

Bingo! But I can offer no excuses for missing that one.

Just wanted to offer my thanks to Lady Rowena for this wonderfully atmospheric mission. The story reminds me of some of the better moments from Dark Shadows.
