Yep, it's an engine thing. Doesn't matter how good your system is. But it should only happen in some outdoor areas with very long views. The 50-55 framerate is an improvement to what it was for some in betatesting.

Alright. :) 55 FPS isn't too bad indeed, and, it really only seems to be in a few places. Like in Winds of Misfortune (although an update improved things there).

Lovely scenery in this mission. My favorite area is the garden with the fountain and big clock. I also stopped to admire the paintings, especially the ceilings. But the most interesting thing is the non-standard mission structure. I hadn't found the note about the guards leaving when the clock strikes twelve , so when that happened, I was thoroughly spooked by the silence and was expecting something to jump out at me as I walked around. I will replay 1.1 and do the first part with no knockouts.
Question: There's a note complaining about the "unholy effigies of foul Trickster magick" that Beatrice is leaving on the trees. What does this refer to? My guess: the birdhouses?

Can't get any doors to open, or make a sound.
Tried fresh install T2, then T2Fix 1.28, and then update to NewDark 1.28.
Still no joy; what am I missing?

I am also stuck in this same predicament. Been waiting for more people to report this so I can proceed.
Also... opening the chest in the room in the attic area outside the lab... the sound of the lockpicks opening loops continuously forever even after I opened it. It fades away as I walk away from it, so no biggie. (it's the only chest that does this, btw)

If you are already inside the east wing, go in
the side rooms and

As for the "missing" key:
the door that it would have opened is a pickable door to a small storeroom with a ladder and a tinderbox item. You may have been in there already and not realized the connection to the note.

Just finished playing on Expert. Excellent mission, thank you, skacky!
As always, great atmosphere and attention to detail. I loved the switcheroo after the clock struck midnight - and like Wormrat mentioned, I had not read the note about the guards and staff leaving at midnight, so I was terrified creeping around after that, slowly realizing "...there aren't guards anymore...", and wondering what might jump out at any point. (Even though I hadn't seen the full revelation, I assumed *something* was now hunting me.) Thrilling ending: the new monster model, and the sounds it makes when it nears you, are chilling. At the end, I set up everything for the explosion in just the right sequence and was out with the Lady in the nick of time. I also went back in to the wine cellar to see that it worked, and was glad to see the rubble.
So many details - I will need to play again. I didn't see the notes in the water asking for "HELP" until after I had completed the main objectives and was on my way out. Chilling.
