Fantastic mission, just finished with 3/4 secrets, found the lady, a gas arrow, and a (disappointing) bag of coins. It's great to finally have a really well-constructed manor heist with no dark secrets or hidden passages!:cheeky:
I unfortunately have a couple bugs to report. I'm on 1.28 and had no other issues.
1. During the "clock strikes midnight, loot everywhere, guards all gone" period, the archer at the upper level of the entry hall is still present and patrolling. He is removed by some later script point.
2. Much more minor and, I suspect, harder to fix: Barlow got stuck for me several times while I was trying to lure him to the wine cellar. This happened on/near the stairs, then again as he attempted and failed to path through a door. Both instances occurred after I used the dagger, so I suspect that something about the resulting pathing code has an issue. It unfortunately ruined the tension of the climax for me a bit.
I had another scripting error that was fixed with a simple reload, so unless others report it I'll assume it was a fluke.
Another Skacky masterpiece...a Skacksterpiece. I especially want to give a shoutout to the fantastic soundwork (including new VA work), painting selections, and lore-expanding trophies. I always wondered what those looked like...
edit: even more than other recent missions, I'd love a rundown of how the new features created for this mission work. They seem like they could be real gamechangers.

Bug report: Seems like I did too good of a job of getting away from Barlowe. I was coming out of the lab, and was having a hard time getting out of the area. I flashbombed him, left a bear trap on the stairs and ran. After about 20 minutes I came back up and he wasn't moving at all and hovering just a little bit above the floor. He was right in front of the doorway between the stair tower and the storage attic. When I reload he plays his "blinded" animation, then goes back to being frozen. I can sit right in front of him and nothing happens. I tried using Dromed to nudge him out of the area and into a bit more pathable area but that didn't seem to do anything. What should I do? Great mission otherwise.

downwinder, its for Thief 2. You have to use T2Fix
(
https://github.com/Xanfre/T2Fix/releases/tag/1.28-2025-08-10)
Also make sure you're starting with a fresh install of Thief 2.

Hmm, this has never happened during beta. I'm afraid you might have to load a prior save.

Okay, be honest people. How many of you are trying to play this in Thief Gold just because it's a skacky mission? :nono:
This mission is for
Thief 2: The Metal Age (2000).

That guy is following me too close, making it almost impossible to investigate. Where exactly is the door for the "laboratory key"?

Check the attic area.

Hmm that's not reassuring, I'm not sure it has installed properly if you can see this message.
What are the things that make this mission to only be played in 1.28 yes or yes?
skacky on 15/11/2025 at 12:22
The mission uses at least one script that requires the version of Squirrel distributed with NewDark 1.28, and it also uses a lighting tool that's natively supported with this version.
