This is AWESOME and well worth upgrading to 1.28 One question can you kill the monster or at least use the traps on it?
Thanks for this gem!!

So I installed 1.28 but when I start the mission I still get a message in the top saying: Error: HealAfterFlee requires NewDark 1.28 or later.
The mission plays fine though so far, just that message worried me.

I didn't use the installer, as it didn't want to run for me. I downloaded the .zip from the original French forum post and unpacked that.
No, the mission does not play fine while that error is occurring—though you may not have noticed it yet. When you manually installed 1.28, did you remember to also install its version of squirrel.osm? it is inside "contrib.zip"; and should be installed to replace the 1.27 version of squirrel.osm that is in in your t2 install folder.

I've installed T2Fix_1.28-2025-08-10 and When I run the game again from the beginning I no longer have this error : Error: HealAfterFlee requires NewDark 1.28 or later.
The mission looks outstanding by the way !

For the record, I did a manual update to 1.28, and everything is working fine. No error messages here.

I've got the same problem with T2 1.28 as I did/do with T1 1.28;
a d3dx9 error, it was looking for d3dx9_30.dll when all I had was a d3dx9_43.dll
(copy, paste/dupe, rename does not work)
Fortunately, I was able to reinstall 1.27 and it works again, but can't play the new FMs
Anyone have any insight as to what this is?

I don't know for sure, but that sounds like a DirectX runtime issue. You could download and install the latest updates from Microsoft and see if that fixes the issue:
(
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368)
(
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109)
These files are listed as necessary in NewDark's release_notes.txt, but the URLs included in those release notes are old, broken links. The two links I've provided here are the updated URLs. In case your system is, for some reason, missing other necessary runtimes, this is a handy all-in-one installer:
(
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/)
Edit: After some research, I think there's a pretty good chance this will fix your problem. For many or most people, the d3dx9_30.dll file won't be found in their Thief directory, but rather their Windows system folder. The most recent updates of both Windows 10 and Windows 11 don't install this file (it's only necessary for legacy Windows applications and games), so it's quite possible you don't have it.
