red lens seems like i have to look at something somewhere?
The monocle belonged to the previous museum director, Sarnoth.
Perhaps he left a clue in his office.

thanks for this gem (so far - I'm sure it will keep on "gemming")
one question: I'm in the house where I read about the ACME Safe and the combination - in the kitchen is a trapdoor, I assume this should lead to the safe?! however I can't interact with the trapdoor - is it a bug or am I missing a (secret) switch or something? and hint please?
Thanks!

Balboa: Thank you for creating this FM. It is quite literally a work of art with painstaking attention to detail.
Downwinder: Thanks for your suggestion, it worked.
The things I've found out:
The monocle/lens - using it in the museum reveals (at least, could be more) four 'marked' artworks. I'm guessing their plaques are to be read in a certain order, to do something.
I've found 5 Hammer Hideouts and am sitting at 6380 in loot. Still only one secret found though. There's at least one bonus objective, but it's tied to the secret that I've uncovered.
The party - I don't think you're supposed to interact directly with the partygoers + security, but there's a few purses there to snatch. How close can Garrett get to the partygoers without being spotted?
Hammer Hideouts found: Attic, barn, grotto, attic in small house, Crom residence.
Things I'm NOT figuring out:
I found a house that contains readables about a safe (+ combination) in the basement, but as far as I can tell the house doesn't have a basement.
The archive room in the bank. I've found the readable, but I'm no closer to figuring this one out.
Plain metal gear. I also don't know where it goes.
Elevator in building next to bank, the one with a facetime-sensor. Currently I can get it to go to ground floor and to the basement. The shaft goes way up, is there any way to reach the upper floors?

"You can't get there from here."

Radogoal: Question 1: Your question is a little vague. If you're looking to get from the starting area to the museum area, look for a building where you can turn off the power in the generator room. In that building is a long set of stairs going up, at the top of that staircase is a room with a door, that door leads to the museum area. You can't miss this room because a guard conversation starts when you enter it. There are other ways as well.
If you're looking for the exit to the mission, find the place marked 'Beggar's Close' on the map and take the right-hand path right to the end.
Question 2: Again your question is vague. There are three gears in this mission (so far). The bronze gear is used in the basement of the museum, the round circular gear is used in the same house that it's found in, but people seem stumped on where to use the third gear (called 'Vault Key' in-game).
Hope this helps.
