It is such an amazing mission! Easily one of my favourites! I finished everything that had to be done i just have trouble
getting into the mines to find poenari, where am i supposed to go? I would appreciate an outright spoiler since i have been going around in circles around the castle for a while
Leave the castle and go down the long ramp/road you took going up to it at the beginning, then at the bottom go roughly straight past the two guards by the fire and you'll see a large gate in the canyon wall, that's the mine entrance. This shows its exact location from my playthrough:

Yeah I went there and now I can't find no holy water in the
Clock. I'm there now. What does (must be 12) mean? Ok, never mind.
Had to read her Diary first. Is there a list of where the statues are? I got 6/7.
I can't figure this thing out with the Ashes & I'm missing 75 in gold to complete mission 1... argh almost 4 hrs now… So Finally, I skipped to the next mssion, with 2925 intact.
Mission2:
I got as far as the Cave & finding the dead dude at the bottom of the pit. But once down there, getting his key. How in the hell do I get back up to the ledge or anywhere? Can climb a slanted rock face, but when I try to run across to the shelf I just end up at the bottom again. Threw the lantern up onto the shelf to get my bearings, but I still can't get up there. What am I missing? Ahhh, my gamma was too low hehe
Once in the mines, does it really end that way? The map did not tick off when I found the
treasure in the crypt. When I got to the mines the mission ends after rope arrowing up somewhere… that's when the rest of the list ticks off...
Buhu... I don't want it to be over :(

Without any map every corner of the castle now behind my eyelids. I was scratching around so long till I found all the loot and easter eggs. And I loved it! Thank you, Sensut!

Done this very recently with the Dracula campaign (and did Bathory like 2 years ago). From what I can say, I like the gameplay is more forward point and click adventure game, with looking for clues and items, to solve the puzzles, instead of classic thief gameplay. As fan of history, history of art and such, I was amazed with the castle structure, a little bit virtual sightseeing, but also navigating was a nightmare. Even with rope arrows, it was hell to walk around the structure. Due to perfect representation(I suppose) of the real complex, the ingame navigation is AWFUL, and lack of map or simplified connections between rooms made, that most of the gameplay is about running in circles. I wonder if simplified map of the structure would help somehow. Just a layout of the most vital rooms.
Also the big open spaces, are annoying, because I expected to find something, when mostly the big openness is only for eyegazing. Made me waste of time just to search every part of big areas, to find out only two points of it are important.
Still I'm amazed with attention to detail, and amount of custom objects and textures.
I've played on hard, to see how the tips would look like, and must admit they are useful, since player can't take most of the readables. Tho I need to go back to one or two just to be sure what am I supposed to do.
Can't tell too much about the story but also, all the campaigns so far I've played not for it but for fun of exploration of the places with vampires, costume movie, and victorian adventure setting.
Personally I would say for other players, that its good to have notebook and pen for this mission, to write down some stuff, or just note at "which direction" some rooms are.

A most fine pair of missions once again. Like all your other Carpathian FMs - which I've replayed more than many others - they really take you on an adventure back in time in a fascinating setting, skillfully captured and executed (no pun intended). What I especially like is that typical mission setup of starting out with an interesting wilderness trek before finally coming upon a grand view of an imposing castle, as was done here.
As for feedback specific to this mission, I agree that a map would have been very useful. Fortunately I got my bearings by mission 2. Also, it was interesting how you managed to make mission 1 feel like it was still lived-in with all those readables telling stories from various perspectives. In mission 2 I expected a twist with regards to all the soldiers, i.e. they'd get in a fight with something or see through the player's disguise, but even without such a twist their peaceful presence made the place feel quite cozy.

Sensut:
It is hard to describe how great the architecture of this castle is. Simply fantastic. I spent extra time walking around just enjoying the surroundings. Love the size of the castle, the outside areas, the Overlook (very creative), all the new objects. The whole mission was breathtaking. I may play it again right away. I can't imagine how long it took you to build this. It would have taken me years and years.
Congrats and thank you for a tremendous mission and 3 hours of sheer pleasure.
For anyone who has not played this mission, play it tonight!

I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately there will be no new release this year for Halloween (I'm in the first line against Covid yet), but the project is not given up. The mission was half finished when this disaster came and I had no time to deal with it since. I hope it will end soon and we can return to normal life ;)
PS: bbb, thanks for the PM :thumb:

This is my first time playing a fan mission that is something other than a Thief mission. I just completed part 2. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the secrets, & of course the castle. I look forward to the next part.
Some criticisms:
1) Although this is not a combat game, the werewolf's & Dracula's AI awareness really should be cranked up like most guards are in many Thief fan missions. I think the low AI awareness they have now takes away from the atmosphere. A vampire & especially a werewolf can sense you a mile away. You should not be able to simply walk right near them in a shadow. A vampire may not exactly know who you are yet by sight (if you are stealthy) but he will know you by the impressions you leave after rambling through his turf. He would almost immediately sense you are around when he encountered you again, for example.
2) Rooftop: I really think some very good opportunities were missed on the castle rooftops. I worked very hard to get up there and the only thing you get is a view (which is nice) and one idol. It would have been fantastic to have at least one secret set of rooms found only via the rooftops
3) This is my own opinion based on preference so please don't take this too personal: I really wished most of the areas found by the ethereal gates would have been found the traditional way. a) For example in mission 1, the wooden platform that has the awesome view of the castle. I wish that would have been found by traditional exploring. b) The same with the bell tower. c) the room by the castle entrance with the door blocked by a chair. I see through the window the ladder inside. I got excited and looked forever for a secret passage to the ladder, only to find it was accessed via the magic gate. That was a real letdown & quite honestly, I felt that was cheesy way to handle that. I would have taken much greater joy in finding a secret crawlspace with the ladder. In mission1 overall I thought the magical gate was used too much
Thanks for your time on this. It was not easy I am sure to create such a large mazelike castle.
