This mission is amazing. The use of available space is superb. I clocked over 4 hrs because I didn't realize that new mantle was not on by default so I frustrated myself for the first 90 mins without it. :grr: I finally checked this thread for rope arrows and saw to check my settings. Once I turned it on, it was a whole different story. I really enjoyed the mantling. The grittiness, ambiance, and warren-like city reminded me a lot of the first Rocksburg mission which is one of my all-time favorites. I love climbing, rooftops, and exploring, so this was right up my alley. I was surprised to see just how much was packed into the small map. Excellent mission. I can see why this was the contest winner. Congrats!

i´m replaying this mission on expert, i left it a while ago unfinished because i can´t find the key for the cage where the sleeping girl is, now that i figure how to disable the mantle as i learned in one of Ricebug´s Walkthrough i might have better chances of getting inside new places.

Do you have the
Shrine key? I had it in my inventory for quite some time before I figured out
that there is something you need to do to the key before it will work on the cage door.

Hint from scroll readable:
Bathe the key in the Sybil's fountain of tears.Hint:
Where is the Sybil's child?Hint:
Go to the Sybil's attic.Spoil:
The Sybil's attic, which is above a banner near the guard house, has a small fountain near the crib with the Sybil's zombie child. Use the key on it.

This is maybe shameful to admit considering how frustrating it is without new mantle, but I designed the mission completely using the old mantle. :laff: Only hours before releasing it, did I finally manage to do a couple tests with the new mantle, making sure nothing was too broken with it turned on.
Using the old mantle, it created a single route that the player had to locate and maneuver through in order to finally reach the highest points; I could gauge where and how players would be able to get to each location. With new mantle, players can go everywhere and the importance of that singular route is lost as players climb all over the place. Pros and cons, I guess.

No matter how you designed it originally, this ended up being a fantastic mission. I've been unable to play for some time, so I know a lot of my skills are rusty. I really need more practice! I think not having one set path was a definitely plus for me. It made it more fun to return to an area because I could try different paths and figure out the best way to go. I had so much fun with this mission. I'd love to see you expand it or do a sequel. :cheeky:
