I just finished this new mission and I really really liked it. Was very enjoyable to play through :) the only thing I didn´t like was the typical "twist" at the end, imo sth. like that is not needed for a great mission but then again thats just my opinion right? :D
Thanks so much for this Vortex85!! :thumb:

a great mission
the only drop of worm is the endsequence .
in my opinion it devalues the whole mission. all the more i couldn't defeat him. and so a very good mission keeps in a questionable remembrance.
nevertheless i joyfully expect the next mission of this user :thumb:

I've seen those who like and dislike the twist. At the end of the day its hard to please everyone and I totally understand those who don't as its quite unexpected and different to the rest of the mission.
In what way are you having trouble with Barry? Are you not able to get on the rock next to him to kill him with your sword? If you have a single broadhead or flashbomb that should give you time enough to stun him and jump on the rock and take him out. Although you can do it without if you are quick and time it right, he will turn and stall longer at certain points allowing you time without stunning him. I suggest doing a quicksave and just try it over and over until you get it.

Hello! Stupid here.
I can't understand the code.probably 2, 1 and then what? Each for every digit of the hand? like 5 spiders for 5 fingers? 2155 is not correct. Maybe he is missing a finger? 2144 is wrong too. Some help please?
As always, a little search...only some info, the walkthrough at dark fate is probably not updated? As I saw afterwards the post here with the walkthrough and this one has the actual code, not just the hint. btw,
I also thought about the legs, I just thought they have fewer

Ok so you know the code now? It's funny how you are not the only one who did not know spiders have 8 legs.
There was another player who thought it was 6. :cheeky:
Another hint... take a peak at my user name. :D

Lol, 6 was my verdict too. Too bored to search a bit.. I liked your mission, very nicely done, especially for a first.
Looking forward for your next one.
I also didn't bother with the last part. My thought about instances like this is that they probably should "build up" during the mission, rather than come out of the blue, somehow to set the player's mind on getting ready for something bad. It might make the player more involved and more eager to try to win it. And then, even if it is difficult, (which was, btw), then, ok, the player have been warned through out the mission.
I write that for nothing more than to offer you an average player 's point of view. Cheers!

Sure. I understand that point and there is lore in the mission hinting about it
- something is odd going on with George ever since he got the mask (he has been drinking alone and in his room a lot looking at his treasures... Victor, Phillip, and one of the servants talk/complain about it in the read-ables)
- George gives the code over to Victor to keep him out of his own safe with the mask in it and sounds distressed
- In Phillip's room, he talks about George's dream with "floating rocks" which is the battle ground with Barry at the end
- the guard talks about keeping the mask for himself, implying it has some type of allure to holding on to it
- the guard letters talk about how Barry had never been seen and suddenly appeared out of nowhere, which is answered by him visiting other realms at the end
At one point, I added even more about it, I was going to have crumpled letters in George's office on the ground describing more details of his experience with the mask, but it almost seemed to spoil the surprise so I held back because I didn't want it to be too obvious that there was a surprise coming as I was going for something that was truly unexpected to both the player and Garrett. But I can see the merit in building up to it as well...
Anyway, there are hints about it but they are very vague and nothing obvious.
Just FYI, if you didn't bother with the last part, there is a letter at the end from the "Nameless God" congratulating Garrett on killing his servant and destroying his mask which is the meaning behind the name of the mission.

Thank you for your answer, you are right, you have plenty readables, not just 1 or two.
Yet, in my playthrough, I felt that there was not something that was about to climax... the readables felt to me as a background story for the mask (after all, most of Garrett 's goals are cursed items, with plenty of readables to boot).
But now that I write these, it occurs to me that maybe the day time mission is the culprit. Too nice and bright for bad things to happen. :D
And, I will say it again, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it a lot.
Everything else is just personal views.
We all should be thankful for the people who bang their heads against Dromed to make missions.

In case anyone is interested I have a playthrough on Expert with 100% loot posted. Had trouble with boss so if anyone wants a good laugh they can see me fail miserably repeatedly lol. I blame it on the video recording! Bad luck!

This mission was fun and quite challenging, so many corridors and rooms inside the outpost, it's like a maze in there!:cheeky:
