That was a fantastic mission.:)
I enjoyed the ghosting at the end though I usually find it hard.
Loved the Architecture. Also the way you could put out the candles. Excellent... I was 150 short though.:tsktsk: :thumb:

Based on the thread for the second mission, I played this part first. It is a beautifully designed mission, but I am having some problems with the secret in the attic. The only thing I'm getting there is stuck between the wooden beams. Can anyone help?

Ok, it's been a couple years, but you do not need to go into that area between the
two attic spaces - I know, when I played it the first time I went nuts trying to go directly between the two. You can access both sides directly
through their own trap doors - one over the
table next to the stairway which has the
chest with the gemstone, the other in the darkened
hallway on the far side which has the dead
rat with grandpa's ring. Just rope arrow up into both separately.
Proof of something level designers constantly hit up against, if you make it look like you can get in there, generally Thief players will find a way to do so even if you didn't mean them to.

Thanks! The bit I was missing was
the second trap door.
However, dunno if this was a bug, but I BJ'd* every guard at Gilbert & Sons without consequence. Looks like ghosting the last part is not needed.
*Blackjacked, for the record. I am not Erin Brokovich.

:o That certainly shouldn't happen. I was never able to knock out the guards there without failing the mission.

There is one guard inside carrying a lamp - take him down, and you fail... Hmm...
You know, I only ever did that inside the warehouse proper - could it be that part is LITERAL? If you knock them out inside the warehouse floor - where the crate you are to exit in is - you fail, but if you wait for him not to be in there it's ok to take him down?
I'm gonna re-install and check that.
Nope, the one with the lamp loops back down all the way to the sewer ladder - and even there if you take him down it's mission failed.
So that's ONE guard in the whole thing you can't take out.
Unkillable Cat on 27/8/2008 at 11:56
I took them all out. The lamp-carrying guard "feel asleep" in the basement, the patrolling guard is "snoozing" in the long stairs up to the second floor (his back is gonna hurt in the morning) and the motionless guard is "napping" where he stood. None of them ever spotted me.
Could this be script-related?

@Garg:
-Chest in the room with a sitting guy isn't locked
-Chest key opens a chest in attic which contains the Mystic Soul, you can access this part of the attic from library (hatch is above the round table)
-As for loot: grab the safe key from sitting guy's belt and use it to open the wall safe in bedroom
