Finally got around to playing. Just finished and I must say this was a great and awesome mission. Not only a inspiration for what newdark FM building could be, but many awesome moments, environments, and gameplay.
There are some rough areas no doubt; inconsistencies with terrain-like wood-based objects that let you rope arrow but then some that do not, white keys hard to see as keys, backwards torch on last landing of stars in south station flr 1. (Had a screen but forgot to retrieve it before uninstall, but hard to spot because you on-look it from the pad mart and it's see through).
I wish some of the textures were are the same level as others but I get that it's sometimes hard when a project is built over a long time. I did end up fixing some that took me out of immersion and noticed in your txt16 folder there was junk files; objects both pre-rendered and post-rendered were there. As well competing graphic files; for example same name in both .png and .dds.
Highlight for me is old concept done right and new concepts to refresh FM playing. I thought it paced well and although challenging, I felt they made sense (I didn't need to come here to read, almost at the gallery but pulled through). You should be proud PB! Oh and you made me cry too if you get my drift. I hope you have more to come!

Thank you Peanut45!
Goldwell managed to finish, but not sure what steps were taken to remedy the crashes.
Ideas to double check: are you playing on mission version 1.3, and using Newdark 1.24? Also, I use Darkloader, so not sure if that may make a difference. The only mod disable that was found problematic (that I am aware of) are water mods, so maybe double check that one in particular is disabled.
Another thought is to check the object ID counts in your dark.cfg (see Gamophyte's message #260). This mission uses a lot of resources, so it's possible that in-game, this can become an issue. Here are the object count ID's as I have them in dark.cfg, just make sure to back up your original first:
; object counts
obj_min -18192
obj_max 8184
max_refs 52740
Thanks for the suggestions, yes mission 1.3 and Newdark 1.24. I tried changing those object count limits to what you have there, and commenting out the mod_path line in cam_mod.ini, but it didn't seem to affect it (I'm using TafferPatcher 2.0.17 and fmsel).
Apart from crashes when loading recent save games, it seemed to always crash when looking right just beyond the entrance to "Sky Pavillion (members only)". Another slightly odd thing was a corpse floating in mid air just outside the zombie pit. Not sure if that was anything to do with it! I also noticed where some of the special keys disappear when used on a normal door, but no problem once you know it can happen.
I've reloaded from a save game just before the Gallery tour entrance, and it seems to be working well so far, but I tried to nuke the zombies a bit more comprehensively this time. There's so much good stuff in this mission, I really liked the way the difficulty increased from fairly tricky at the start, to downright challenging later on. Not to mention all of the hilarious posters, shop designs, custom audio, and thoughtful & rich story/mission objectives.

Thank you again Peanut45! Hope the mission will continue to behave for you on the new playthrough ;)
Gamophyte, thank you also! I think those are fair assessments, as there were some spots a bit rough around the edges :cheeky: but glad that you enjoyed it as a whole.

I can't find a way into the spell shop or Rowena's place. I've looked all around the market for a way to get into the spell shop but no luck.
Any hints...
Cheers

Edited - found it...

As far as I know, there is no way into the spells shop. If you have an additional objective concerning the shop, you can
complete that task from the outside of the shop.Rowena's place is accessible, but there is no direct way inside. Instead, you have to do something apparently unrelated to Rowena's in order to gain access. First, look around near Rowena's to find a
cellar. Inside, you find
your old "pal" Benny. Be a really mean thief and steal
his lunch. With that in your possession, go to the place marked on your map where
the smuggler (who lets his fellows observe Peyton) lives. There's an iron gate or fence there by which you gain access to the place where the smuggler's hideout is. Not far from this gate there is a smaller iron gate with a sign "Private property" behind. Some thief-type guard is somewhere behind that gate, as well as access to some water-filled channels, and last but not least a locked door that can neither be picked nor opened with any key you might have in your inventory so far. There are also some poor hungry people nearby. Repent, thief, and
give your stolen food to those who need it.:p They will thank you with a key which opens the door mentioned, and then you can enter Rowena's shop. Search it thoroughly to find a key opening the front door (so you don't have to go back the way you came in) as well as
some kind of medicine. This one belongs to another little secret in the mission, which I will leave to you at this time.;)

I REALLY love the mission, but unfortunately I quicksaved in the first Lost City exhibit where fire elementals are first encountered, and now when I load the quicksave file the whole program crashes. Is there any way I can fix this and/or recover my progress (the last non-quick save was almost an hour ago).

Hmmm, got all 6 statues and went to claim my prize (thinking it might be the flower) but nope, nothing? Nothing came out of the slot at all. So, I read back through a few posts here and I'm apparently meant to be teleported after I read a readable in the keeper's library area but only found three readables (one on a dead guy and two on a noticeboard) but again, nothing. Opened the little door that has the girl's face on it and again, nothing.
I must be missing something...?

Saucer, it seems you have encountered the mystery bug that has caused crashes to some players. Wish I knew how to fix, but I don't.. sorry you are having trouble with that. More bad news.. you may only be able to restart & try again. Also, are you playing on expert? I've seen fewer people run into this when playing on that level. Sending happy thoughts it will start working again for you..
@xenomorf - that's a new bug possibly. After you insert each statue at the place in the gift shop, there should have been a whimsical sound effect, and should have been something that popped out into the tray.. As for the Keepers area, sounds like you may have not made it into the actual maze yet. Go into the maze area there by standing on the Keeper "window" on the floor, and explore around until you come to a book with a painting above it. Read the book, and then look again at the painting. It's now frobbable. Let me know if this doesn't work though.

Thanks! I had actually saved before going down into the
underworld. Major lifesaver! But what's going on is that from that point forward I can't ever save. I'm playing on expert, but taking away my ability to save makes it like super-expert! By the way, speaking of the
underworld, that little
alcove you can crouch in with the air duct and removable vent is probably the only reason I'm still sane. Call me a baby, but that "tormentor" scared the absolute shit out of me.

Is there a spare fire arrow for activating the cleansing pillar? I used mine all up by the time I got to it fighting the undead.
If there isn't, consider placing one in that area or ahead, like there are gas, moss and water arrows.
