Spoiler:
You will need to go to the church, get Saint Merek's key from the secret library reliquary (key to that in priest's office) and use Merek's key on a coffin down in the crypt. This will lead you on a path toward the north canal, where you can access the Gallery. Super Spoiler:
To gain access to the crypt from the cemetery, "pray for thy brother to make holy the way". There is a plaque at the north end of the cemetery, that once read will activate the holy water fount. Fire a holy water arrow on the crypt door (the one that looks like a knight) which will then open for you. And this is where I'm stuck. I figured out how to make my way
into the flooded crypts using the hammer keys and then navigated through the
water--thank goodness for 2 breath potions--to the place with the "fire guy" who I quickly dispatched. (Thank you dead guard with the holy water.) But now I'm encountering nothing but
locked doors that can't be picked. Clearly the gallery is here or very near based upon the view out the window. What do I do?

Upstairs in the North Station with the locked doors,
look up for an indirect way around the locked door.

So I'm in the gallery, in the Learning Center (with the question about Hades, etc). I got the statuette, but when I go to the 'continue the tour' section, the portal is blocked... (I'm playing 1.2 by the way)
EDIT: never mind, forgot to disable the portals

Just dropped by to say thanks for this amazing mission. One of the most enjoyable FMs I've come across lately.
Everything's just clicked here - loved the city, the music was great and deep, visual content attractive all along, and the gameplay well organized and enjoyable.
One little detail I had reservations about was forcing the player to find secrets in order for the story to progress. That's just against my philosophy of how mission should flow. On the other hand, It remained manageable and there were hints so nothing to pick on, really :)
All in all, had a really nice three and a half hours with this one.
Kudos! :thumb:

I found a frobbable mug, I assume it's either that goes in it, but I can't find any. Playing on normal, I pretty much finished everything else

Thank you andlyn! Glad you enjoyed it :D I just submitted the final version 1.3 to fix a few items, and help make a few of the sidequests a bit less obscure. I don't think any actual secrets are required for progression of the game, though - likely you mean the sidequests in relation to the compass keys for the final optional objective?
Azaran - did you find Benny's Lunchbox? Take that to the hungry street people near Brockwyn Manufacturing in the east, and both the locked basement door and (soon after that) the frobbable mug will become more clear.

the lunchbox in my inventory

Just wanted to say, this mission was fantastic. I'm not kidding-- it's easily in my top 10 of all time. It took me three days of off and on playing to beat, and I didn't want it to end!
A few things...
1. The "reward" for finding all six statues in the Gallery was so hilariously cruel I had to pause the game as I died laughing. SO GOOD.
2. I loved all of the music throughout! When I think of Thief, I think of a mostly silent game, but this FM shows just how much ambient music can add to a level. Loved it!
3. Seriously, the Gallery...it's probably the best single hour of any FM ever created.
4. The ending was brilliant, very "Tales from the Crypt."
I wrote you a review over in the General Fan Mission Review and Discussion Megathread. I made sure to write it right away and do nothing else until it was finished, so I wouldn't get lazy and leave it unwritten, because this FM reeeaaally deserved one.
Thanks for making this!

Thank you Mike!
Loved reading your review.. actually lol-ed quite a few times.. and loved your Mickey reference, as I'm actually in Dizland this week (no Dumbo yet.. here to mourn the soon passing of Twilight Zone.. Marvel bedamned) ;)
But really.. Thank you (and everyone) who have played and taken the time to post your thoughts here! It is so very much appreciated, and can't wait to finish the next one.
