After going through this long thread, I'm still not sure what to do to rescue Lord Alan. Not a clue. I've read about caves and Treebeasts and such like, but I've not seen any of this.
I found the Truth and returned it to Ignaz. I've been up in the attics and down in the basements and I have keys for pretty much everything.
The only door I don't seem to be able to get through is in Tower #5. Now, I've been reading about Tower #5 in this thread. And I've been there, of course, to get to the Truth. There's a door in that tower that I have not yet opened. I'd like to open it, but I am not able to jump down from the rooftops to get to it. I don't know if this door and my quest to find Lord Alan are linked, but I'd still like to get through that door. And I'd still like to know how to find Lord Alan.

Unlock the door on the east side of the chapel with the “Chapel key”, go through and climb the stairs to the top but don’t go through the door. Instead look to your left and you’ll see another floor plaque in front of a small niche holding a statue. The plaque says: “When the way forward seems closed to you, Only trust will see you through.” Step forward and you’ll sink through the floor and float downwards. At the bottom, you’ll be teleported and end up on the other side of the strange field that you saw in the basement area on the jail level.

Of course. Of course. I went down there earlier on, realized it was the wrong thing to do, and then forgot all about it. :nono:
Thanks. This is a most enjoyable mission and series; one of my favourites so far. What an accomplishment. And I still have the third to look forward to.

Glad I could help. :) I've always loved these missions too.

Now I get to see my stats.
One last question before I move on -- the secret that I can see embedded in the marble staircase -- how on earth do I get that one open?. I'm not going to hunt for all the secrets, but I did find quite a few.

There's a round metal rod in under the lowest section of the stairs. Push it and the secret panel around back will open.

I can;t believe I missed it. I spent at least 45 minutes looking around that area. :laff:

2.
I know where you go to the get to the riddles section. The only two doors that will open and not kill you are the far left and far right. Each contain a purple room with nothing in! Looking at previous posts isn't there meant to be a window you have to smash here? What do I have to do?
2.
When you open the two end doors, the middle door opens, as well. That's the one you need to go through. Make sure you pick up the clue scroll and use it to get through the other rooms.
What the heck is all that about?
I have'nt seen anything like that yet!

I've always enjoyed this mission greatly. It's sprawling and has many areas that feel different. Neat difficulty levels and an interesting story.
Be sure you check out Lord Alan's other real estate properties. His factory is a sight to behold.
