When I pick up the Cube and the Truth, the objective does not tick off, instead I get 1300 loot.Is this a bug or what?
That is strange. I've never heard of that. There is quite a bit of loot (1180) in the cube vault. Are you sure you picked up the cube itself? If so, you should have the cube in your inventory. Is it there?
The Cube and the Truth are separate items in different areas with different objectives. Do they both have this same problem for you?
If you have this bug and others don't, all I can think of is that there may be something wrong with your Thief installation. Perhaps reloading the OM's, loading Fortress again, and starting from the very beginning will help. I really don't know.

I am 100% sure that I picked up the Cube itself,it's in the vault and I recognised it at the first sight. And both have the same problem.Oh and I forgot to mention, that the objective to bring back Lord Alan to his bedroom does not tick off as well...

Well, if you have the cube in your inventory and it is behaving like this, then obviously the mission is broken somehow. If you do not have the cube in your inventory, then maybe you should go back to the vault and try to find it again. You are the first I have heard to have had this problem. If you cannot correct it by getting the cube again, then, if I were you, I would install the OM's to clear things up (make sure they play), download again Fortress, and try again from the beginning. Also, I should say, I recommend using Darkloader 4.2 or later. I hear that Garrettloader has some bugs. I have no idea whether that could be the cause.

Great older mission but my problem is that I can't, for the life of me, find a way to access to the Lower Basement (I guess there are cells there). I am playing at medium difficulty, I found most of the loot but no Cube...
Any help would be appreciated, there doesn't seem to be anything, anywhere in this thread about how to get to those cells, impossible to access through the "force field"
-I have the Truth
-I blackjacked everybody outside the cell/lower basement area, took all the keys
-Chapel side doors cant be unlocked with the keys I have
Is there a walkthrough somewhere?
Thanks a million!

I have a walkthrough I wrote for myself. It's never been checked over or proofread but should be basically correct. Email me and I'll forward it on to you, if you like.

Another proof that the FMs get better and better, and THIEF will never die.
New players are rediscovering the older FMs and the joy of the game.

I agree with everything you say except the new player "tag" in my case :joke:
I bought T1, T2 and T3 when they came out back in the day and got into playing FM's since they started to exist. Somehow I downloaded this one a long time ago but never got to play it. I go back to my folder of FMs (300+) when there is a "shortage" of new FMs.
My better half and I (yes, we take turns playing!) have been addicted to Thief for that long and we are truly impressed by the increasing quality of the FMs produced by people.
A public "thank you!" goes to Nightwalker for helping us. :D

I noticed your "Join" date, and did not necessarily mean you exactly. But I should have made that line a little clearer.
We are getting "newer" players who are just discovering FMs and the joy thereof.
No insult intended. :)

Just joined to say what an excellent mission Lord Alan's Fortress is (though I've had to resort to spoilers, and I'm currently blundering around in the caves around that sleeping face looking for those blasted rubies -- can't find them anywhere yet, I'll have to sleep on it).
Played T1&2 back when they came out, but switched away from Windows some years ago, and only this year have been able to play Thief again (with Wine) -- though T3 is still not playable.
There's a wealth of fan missions out there, I'm really impressed, but damn some of them can be difficult!
